boys and glitter/shimmer paints

Post by MagicalGlitterkatie on Wed Mar 04, 2015 10:21 pm

I'm going to be getting a FAB 20 color palette soon, and I love shimmer and glitter colors and I'm going to get a ploppy orange shimmer and am wondering if I should get a regular orange (tiger) as well. I'm mostly conserned about doing a tiger or something orange on a boy and having the parents be all annoyed about him having a shimmer/glittered face. I personally have no problem with a boy having glitter or anything considered "girly" if he wants it, but I do know that some parents are less open minded, sadly. Neutral  And I'm not good with confrontation so I'd like to avoid those little problems. What do you guys think?  Question

No one has ever fussed at me for using metallic colors on a boy.

It's their face... they should be happy with what gets painted on it. Don't over think the shimmer paint and glitter - it adds to your design.

Boys dress up in dresses all the time at work (preschool) and I've never had a parent make an uncalled for comment regarding it. If they did, they'd get an earful back - it's not a big deal.

Same as rthling and anniel. I've never had anyone complain about using pearlescent colors in a boys design.

Just call it 'metallic', and dumb people will think the same product is more 'manly'. Problem solved.

Or maybe put them in square containers with exact measurements and label it with a nice grey font that says "just for Men' Razz

lots of critters have shiny surfaces and/or iridescent colors in real life (scales, eyes, claws, feathers, etc) - reptiles and amphibians, sharks, fish, and other sea life, insects, birds, etc.

and the hair and fur on many animals is glossy if you look closely, and looks shiny when it reflects light.

then there are superhero costumes, robots and cyborgs, knight helmets and swords, rockets, trucks and cars, football helmets..

better stock up on your metallics Very Happy
