Kryolan Interferenze

Post by Megan in slc on Wed Feb 24, 2010 4:14 pm

Every one is talking about the gold and bronze Interferenze paints. I was looking and they had allot more colors like pink purple and silver. Has anyone used them? Do you like them?

There should be a demo somewhere. If not, I have a IF palette and I will do one for your. Some are better than others really. Most of them are quite sheer.

It is a matter of technique with the Kryolan Interferenz. You can get nice opaque finishes but you have to use more water than you think you need and get it creamy... I use it all the time.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! Bach Blue (now discontinued) and Strauss Wine are GORGEOUS and the Mozart Pink is a great princess colour. All the colours a beautiful.

The Bronze is a fantastic substitute for gold and the Silber/Silver is more of an irridescent pearl white than silver.

They are NOT for linework though.

I be loving the IF colors! They are all beautiful, and like Shannon said, you just have to mix in more water than normal to get an opaque finish. I believe that Lynne Jamison used them a lot for her painting Smile

Love them but you do need to use them slighty differently to some other brands, just takes a little practice like Wolfe does. IF tends to need more water.

i like the IFs and the duochromes and the metallics but I seem to get thru them faster than other brands , maybe as they are sort of softer>

Lovely tho.

I took a class Kryolan sponsored class and the trick is to keep wringing your sponge (water/paint) back into the cake, picking the paint up and repeating this process until the water becomes more and more paint - making it less wet. Whip it to a frothy, cream mixture to really get a rich opaque coverage with high sheen.

It works nicely over a matt color to create a pastel shimmer color - like light blue matt base with Strauss Wine over the top create a nice pastel lilac color and it's more durable than just the Interferenz alone.

They work very well dry too - perfect as eyeshadow or a base for powders.

I have found if you fly too many times with a cake of some of the mettalic Interferenz they tend to shrink - dehydrate a bit - cover them with a plastic film wrap and they do just fine. I see all the new cakes coming from Kryolan with a film over them and I don't recall this of years gone by.

There are some great colors which most just don't stock yellow, orange, fuschia pink and turquoise.

Sooo Shannon do you still have any Bach Blue?

I've seen a description before that says something about "buffing" it... how does one Buff the Paint?

Ooooh, I do like the sound of that.

Generally I buff pancake make-up (like Mehron Starblends) that are being used for foundation shades... it evens up the finish and takes off the excess paint... a clean barely damp sponge and buff... like you would a car wax job.

Thanks!

I have the Strauss Wine, Silver Green, Silver, Narce, Bronze, Gold and a could of big 'ole cakes of Bach Blue. I absolutely love the silver green...perfect for sprites and princess nymphs. I've found that I can mix a little narce into my matte colors and it takes on a beautiful sheen to it. I don't use narce for anything other than that...it's just a pot of blank sheen waiting for a color, lol.
