Biodegradable glitter- anyone use 'em?

Post by PaisleyPeacock on Wed Apr 12, 2017 12:04 pm

I'm starting to be concerned about the environmental impact of all these little bits of plastic I'm spreading around. I've found a few biodegradable glitters, but they're priced pretty far out of my range. Has anyone had better luck?

I have used edible glitter for a specific event many years ago. The glitter is not as sparkly as our cosmetic glitter. I bought it at a cake decorating store. I didn't mind it, but it became sticky in the humidity and ended up being a big pink lump in the jar.
I would not buy it again.

you could try mica powders, mica is a mineral. not as bright as glitter pieces, but mica has a similar shape, flat and shiny.

also, mehron has metallic powders in 6 shades - gold, rose gold, silver, copper, bronze, lavender.

Mica is lovely, but it's shiny, not sparkly. I want sparkles.
