Kiss Star Eye

Post by funfacesforu on Wed Feb 24, 2010 9:28 pm

Is there any secraet to making a big star on an eye like the band Kiss? I got 2 special requests for them tonight and they weren't very good. I tried it before and couldn't do it and purposely didn't put it in my design book. I can do a star on a forehead or cheek fine but when it comes to the eye with the encave and angles somehow I can't get it symetrical. I even started out the star with a capital A. Maybe I should start out with dots for the outside points and then fill it in from there?

I start making a smaller star than I think I need and then if it look good, I go back and make it bigger. It's really helpful for when you make mistakes.

Also instead of making the outside points, I make the Inside corners first and extend opposit lines, it helps keeps your lines strait.... does that make sense?

what I would do is study the star on the actual kiss member first, posted a pic for ya Smile ... I'd start with the point going along the nose, then the point across the lower forehead. I think if you get those two points nailed then all the other points should be easy from there. Hope this helps alittle.

I get asked for Ziggy Stardust a lot - same era same style but Bowie. Don't make them even and make the biggest point on the forehead(if 1 eye) point in towards the top forehead centre, not out. Looks better..
