I'm a full time mum but so far in the last 4 months doing 1-2 days henna and face painting on the weekend is equivalent to me working my old jobs (Massage therapist/waitress) 4-5 days a week. Also DH gets to bring the little tukka to run crazy at every family fun day within a 200km radius. I also loved to travel but DH's job + mortgage +bub made that look impossible until we started booking festivals in places we wanted to visit. Now at the lest we break even for a weekend away, usually we have some cash left over after the weekend. I don't think there is enough of a market in my area to ever be full time but for the next 3 yrs till the little one starts school I hop I won't have to take on other PT jobs Very Happy

I am a FT recruitment consultant with a labour hire company, I have only just started painting in the last couple of months and it is awesome stress relief and a great creative outlet. Mainly just practising on family and friends, not sure if I'll ever take the next step to gigs but never say never. I started because I needed new challenge and had always been interested in FPing, so decided to finally take the plunge.

Great question! Good to ask it again Lauri!

For me it's just hobby. i can spend hours just putting all the paints on the table and trying the colours and make combinations. So relaxing. I love children and enjoy painting them, but I'm glad I can do it whenever I want to. I don't have to. I have a job and I'm married, so we have a double income household.

During the summer it was out only source of income (family of 4) We just started our business- and so far good. Our first gig was the 4th of July last year. I am so excited for this next season. During the winter we needed to add a 15hr a week receptionist type job to make the ends meet. My husband is working on a novel.
Some think we are crazy, but I am hoping after this next summer we will keep on growing!

I work full time at a casino in Atlantic City. I love entertaining children and I've been a clown for over 20 years now. I find more people wanting just face painting than the whole clown experience. I love being creative but I can't find enough work to be a full time entertainer. Lately I've been getting a lot of opportunities to market my business while providing free services. Hopefully the economy will turn around soon and I can expand my business.

Second of three incomes for me..... I currently hold three jobs. Systems Analyst, ESL Instructor, Face Painter and Balloon Artist.

My corporate job pays the bills. FP and ESL income are my play and extra money! Although sometimes it has to be used for food and gas and/or other bills. I really love what I do!

Just a part time fun thing for me, I don't need the job but I enjoy it, I have so much fun I should be paying them

My full time career that I worked so very hard for my degree is what supports me, not to mention I'm currently working on my second Bachelors.

So yeah, busy busy.
