I will have to search for the brush you used on the big teardrops and play with it.
This forum is soooo great. And Michelle, I looked at your site, your rainbow cake work is out of this world.

thank you...you make me blush...I just use regular make-up around the eyes...how I usually do my make-up as I go out...in matching colour offcourse and then work around it with facepaint most of the times...blending into the regular make-up...the blue design was al done with facepaint..

I'm really hooked on doing flowers with my small split cakes and flat square brush.

Hi. There's some lovely stuff on this thread. Here's one I did recently with a homemade split cake. The colours are Kryolan - maybe the green is Snaz, though - can't remember exactly.

Hi everyone. I found some more of my split faces. There are several more in my gallery, but I'll only put two more on here - don't want to monopolise the thread. This tiger is interesting in that it shows how easy it is to get good blending with the split cakes. The coloured part is done with an orange and yellow split - look how nice the blending comes out (no skill on my part) and then, look how jarring the line is between the white and the colours - not good. However, I think I did use DFX for the white part, and DFX is known for being hard to blend well. I'm still very much a beginner, so I expect my blending will improve with time.

Here's my interpretation of Vi Le's butterfly.

Here are my paints on the day I made the large splits. I have some small ones I made, but for some reason they look really messy.

LOVELY stuff, Michelle! Ashley, thanks so much for the tip about the Snazaroo contests. Here's the link for you all, because there are so many links on that main page. http://www.snazaroo.us/08/8onestroke.htm

There are some great pics on there - some from Michelle, some from Ashley and Shannon, and lots of other people. The only downside of the page is that the photos are a bit small. But there's lots there for inspiration!

Heres the splits I used...these are in the same order as the pics I posted. My brush isn't as wide as the container so it doesn't always pick up all the colors.

The bottom one is all metallics, I love it.

Linda - nice! I love your roses. I wouldn't worry about the size - look at everyone else's pics on this thread. It's great to see things big. Except - my husband came in, saw my gecko on the screen, and said "Oh, that's so realistic how you've done the wrinkles where the gecko's body bends - how did you paint that? Very good." Yeah, thanks a pantload, Bill. Those are MY wrinkles, not the gecko's!

Ya gotta make use of what you've got. Laughing
