hey you guys how do i approach bars?
i dont know if i should charge or work for tips i was thinking face painting and glitter tattoos i remember hearing about this in another forum and that i should not expect a lot of space and to be able to do everything standing... So any help???

Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
I would work for tips for a little while, then start charging. That way you get your work out there for a bit and become popular.
As for the space thing, if you have to walk around you should make an apron that would hold most of your supplies. That way you aren't having to carry a bunch of stuff or balance anything.

"My" bar sets me up in a private room... and pays me by the hour to paint staff, then I can charge the customers anything I want to if I want to stay around (and get to stay in the private room!)
They contacted me initially - from my car wrap. My car is parked across the street from them when I am at the dayjob!

Love that Shannon!
Man, I wish getting bar jobs was as easy as that for the rest of us!
I'll let you guys know how my bar rangling goes. I'm going to try to get paid by the bars to do glitter tats at no cost to their customers. Fingers crossed!

Kat put a really great info post on this somewhere. Maybe in "how'd you do that" section?
A friend of mine worked for a club in exchange for salsa lessons! Aye Carrumba! It's pretty awesome.

WOW! WOW!
I am getting ready to put letters w/ the web site on my caravan, none of my paintings are near the skill of yours, I thing I will leave them off, but, WOW that looks great. Should I ask the price of something like this?
I am so glad you posted it, Thank you.

This was about $1200-1300 CAD. It was the back end and wheelcover only. The full car would have been around $5000-6000 as Toyotas are labour intensive as their trim and handles don't come off easily for installation of the wrap.
The graphics company did the design for me - I gave them a rough sketch and a cd full of photos and they did the design work and installation.
