Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
I do love the ride, Shannon. And the vanity plate.
It will be a while before I think I'll be willing to put one of my examples up like that. I didn't on my business cards, and that's easily replacable. It was because I'm still developing my style and as I'm getting better and more confident, the pics of my past work aren't really representative of what I can do now. And I imagine I'll feel that way a year from now. When I painted the mask I used for the logo last time, I liked it. Still do, but when I discovered DFX black and white, I couldn't look at the line work the same.
Maybe I'll get a car wrap when I'm ready to wrap that mobile make-up trailer I've always wanted!

The wrap paid for itself in more work from different clients fairly quickly...
BUT you do need to be a good driver!! Particularly with the personalized plates!!
"Yes officer, it had a skull on it and the plate was FACEART!"

St. Patty's Day.
I called up a local super crowded bar and restaurant, they were thrilled to have me come in for St. Pat's Day ( rather, the saturday after when our parade is) I did it for tips only, I didn't make a whole lot for the time I was there, but people who did do it tipped me very well. I might do it again, but maybe I'll bring idea pix like I do for birthday parties, but more mature choices. I think the airbrush tattoos would have gone over well too. I guess if I don't book anything, it can't hurt to try. Being there doesn't cost much. I am also going to try a flea market- this is a flea market in a very well do do city.

Generally...I approach bars upright and on two stable feet...
Sometimes...I leave horizontal and on a stretcher... It all depend on who's making the drinks...

Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
I seem to remember a story about some bars in far flung parts of the world.... And if I remember my military service arriving on two stable feet wasn't necessarily the norm...

Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
I plan on painting myself in UV reflective before I venture out to the club. I'll let you know how that turns out.
Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
Ok Shannon, I am officially jealous of your car and signs, *sigh* my little car magnet doesnt compare....one day, one day
Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
Come on guys...just get her drunk...then you can play with her fabulous ride (at least until she gets sober...) Then I'd leave the planet if I were you.
Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
Sounds like an episode of "Face Painters Gone Wild" Cruising around in Shannon's van, doing drive-by paintings to hapless pedestrians.
Re: hey you guys how do i approach bars?
...and dying for it when the Fennell-nator catches up with you?
No thanks...I'd rather paint my toe nails with battery acid...thank you very much.
