Blacklight Paints

Post by SuzySparkles on Tue Mar 16, 2010 10:52 am

MAN!!! I am going to cry!! I had a small gig the other night for a nightclub and they wanted UV paints.... I then HURRIED and bought a whole set of Kryolan UV paints at like $96.00 total.........

Come to find out that the DFX neon colors are all UV reactant and I have all of those!! Am I the only person who didn't know that they did this?!!?!? I am so bummed that I wasted all of that money!! Crying or Very sad

What kind of black light are you using? I have this handheld little thing, that is pretty pathetic.

It's like finding money in the laundry. It was yours all the time, but you still feel like you've won something because you didn't know you had it.

Too bad about the Kryolan. You could try to sell it.

I have two UV tubes - like the one he is using in the picture here. Plus a small handheld one (practical for extra light to the face or behind. And a light bulb, that I don't use that much, since I don't want to take a whole lamp with me ;-)

You can get UV handheld/ standing torches that are far more transportable - I got mine from a face paint supplier in the UK. Its like a mini radio, almost, has a tiny thin long blacklight tube.

OK as a UV brand comparison - this was my set up every evening this week in the Rugby Village's champagne tent.

Most of the big split cakes here are Kryolan UV. Most of the single colour cakes far right are DFX as are the ones with sponges on them and the tiny taster set. Their neon white is rubbish I have a tiny pot of liquid Fardel UV white which is slightly better.

I pretty much ONLY use red, orange, yellow and a normal black plus rainbow cakes I made as the purple, blue, green and white are pants.

Please note they had especially good UV cannons, a lot brighter than many club UV nights I have done.
And there is so much paint out as 1/2 is my personal kit & 1/2 they paid for so that patrons could DIY paint..

And yes thats' a carrot in it, this was me setting up/ painting staff and trying to get some food i me as I had just painted 14 hrs at the rugby and come straight to the village so was STARVING.
