Tip Jar...
Got my very first tip jar from Walmart ($5 blue...looks like glass but its plastic) that doubles as a water/liquid dispenser at festivals. SO question is...What do I put on it when I am using it as a tip jar? "Thank You" or "Tip Jar" lol, ideas people! I need ideas
Re: Tip Jar...
I would put 'donations' instead of tips... maybe? I don't know...lol

Re: Tip Jar...
I have a tip jar and sometimes I put this long stemmed daisy in it that I got from Michael's craft store
. Then I have two "shirt pins" I bought from a local clown/face painting shop. One says "Tips Appreciated" and the other "Invite me to your party!" I pin the "tip" one on the middle of the flower and I usually pin the "party" one on my apron.

I thought maybe people might not see my jar but the flower helps people notice it (with the small pin
) and at the same time looks nice
.
Re: Tip Jar...
If it is a tip jar I would NOT use the word "donations" as it will give the impression that the money will go to charity... and while charity does indeed begin at home it could be construed as misleading.
Mine, which I've actually only used once, says
TIPS
Your appreciation of the artist is welcomed and gratefully accepted.
Thank You ~ Merci
I averaged about $5 per tip when I used it (I was painting for "free" as I was hired at a discounted rate to paint by a non-profit group, so people figured I was working for tips!)

I like the other one LOL.. "Every time you don't tip a Unicorn dies".
Can you see kids in line reading that and go...huh!?!?! Waaaaaahhh!!!
Re: Tip Jar...
I have a jar that says " Ashes of problem customers"
It gets a laugh, lets people know I'm not there to put up with difficult people and parents, and it doubles as a tip jar, if I put 5 bucks in it, it grows!

Re: Tip Jar...
I have a big mug that says "Tips Appreciated" that I put out... ALWAYS start your gig with some money in it. Otherwise it will take forever for the first person to break the ice.

And it works even better if you put larger bills in it instead of $1 bills. My husband always places his larger bills in the front of the "tip pocket" of his balloon bag, and swears that doing so doubles the size of the tip. People don't want to feel that someone else can afford to tip more than they can, apparently! Whatever works, I say!
