Post your first picture

Post by Metina on Wed Nov 05, 2008 9:29 am

Hiya,

We were all laughing at a jam the other day about our first efforts and I showed them this pic and thought it would be good for a laugh. Please post yours as well.

posting pics

Post by Just Jenny on Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:56 pm

Is there a way to post a pic from my computer? I thought that I could just upload it, but that just isn't available from what I've read.

Thanks Jenny

It's amazing how much we grow as painters. I had a banner printed less than a year ago, and now I look at it and see how much I've learned since then. I still haven't ordered my window wrap because I am afraid that once it's on my van, I will get better, and it will be outdated too. What a vicious cycle!

I'm with Angie - what first pictures!
I do postcards but don't add pics to my business cards because I find I am starting to progress rapidly - I don't post anything but fast faces on my web and such - I want clients to get what they see - plus I just never take pics of my faces!!! I'm too busy being in the paint zone.

I've got pictures of my first faces. I remember me and my husband being so impressed with them at the time, now I look at them and cringe! I won't be posting them here! Smile

Some of my first are still on my site. I cringe and wonder why calls are so low. Keep begging my fiance to update it and he says he'll get to it, I think he is trying to make me suffer until I get to cleaning the bounce houses I said I would start getting them ready.

Sweetie, stop waiting on him and do it yourself. I don't want to sound harsh, but you'll be waiting forever if you don't.

Actually keeping some of your first works will let you know how far you've come. My first rainbow butterfly on a two year old is on my poster and most recient ones at the top of my photo page in Fantasy Faces album on my site.
One of my first Rainbow Tigers on a boy is father down on my photo page (scroll down on left) with my most recient on top, same with my orange tigers on my posters with the little girl one more recient - whatadifference!
I get so busy at gigs I dont have time to get photos of my work. Just between us, outside of the popular rainbow & orange tiger & butterfly faces, all the rest are first time photos of each design.
Cant wait for my Jam to paint up some new ones!
Happy Painting,
Susan

Well, my first attempts at a particular design are a far cry from my first attempts at painting anything at all. THOSE are the ones I hate looking at! Most of my design pictures are first attempts, painted on my kids for my menu boards.

Ha, Ha, I know what you mean, Angie. I have a first attempt at a rainbow tiger using a number seven brush, cringe! Your first attempts at designs are awesome and an inspiration for me to create more for my poster which is my menu board. Your childern are beautiful and I love the way you pose them, esp the leopard.
My Grandkids are far away and dont have models to work with around here so I have to depend on gig photos, which have been few & far between.
I have a list of designs to create at the Jam, so hopefully I can fill up another poster.
Happy Painting,
Susan

I am blessed to have my own kids to paint at home. It's so much easier to get good lighting and poses when you aren't on the job. Every once in a while I will get a nice on-the-job picture, but not very often! I have a lot of respect for those working with gig photos!

I'm in a similar situation... at 22 I'm the youngest in my family, except for my little cousin who I rarely ever see. I live out in the country so I have no neighbors with children, so I have to get my practice and photos on the job Laughing I keep trying to wrangle my twin brother into being a model but he's never willing >>

This was my first ever butterfly, about two years ago ... I really, really hope that I've gotten better since then ... the horror... Laughing
