Chairs - undecided

Post by dixieddl on Thu Apr 08, 2010 6:06 pm

I have found two that I'm eyeballing. But the problem is I can't make up my mind.

HELP ME!!

E-Z UP

Earth Executive

I just don't know. All the stuff attached to the Earth brand one makes me want to get it, but the table is on left my left and I would probably not be able to use it. scratch

My vote is Earth Executive. Side saddle and it's a better price. I usually stand on the side where the table'd be, so I wouldn't use it either, but I'd still get that one.

I vote Earth Executive as well! I have a chair with the side table, which I also never use (I'm too short to lean over on that side with the table up...haha), but I love the side bags, and I'm jealous that one comes with a mesh shelf thing - I want that!

(I did use the table while doing a belly - perfect for holding my sketches and the one palette or spray bottle I was using at the moment.)

And the price. Get more for less? Yes!

If ya'll need a bag for the side of your table, look in the office supply section at Walmart- they have a storage thing that has a hard back but lots of pockets and two holes at the top- perfect for using cable ties to attach to the arms of your director's chair!

Me, I am greedy. It's a business facility/tool investment so I would pop for the extra $16 bucks and get the 13 lb alum one. (plus you'd probably save on shipping). 33 pounds is a lot if you have a kit and a longer trek to the car!

I'm Hanz, and I'm Franz, and we're gonna buff, CLAP, you up! Yeah, we don't need no peuny chair. We want chair of Iron, yeah. Girly, man aluminum chair buyer.

<--- has gone a bit loopy, please forgive. The weight thing makes a big difference... especially if you aren't able to strap the chair to the Fatmax.

Holy cow... just realized I wrote that wrong... I knew it was pump.... sigh... I am loopy

I am pretty strong - but you know - 20 lbs is a big difference esp. if you are a tackle tart with your rolling kit full of paint gear and design books BEFORE table, chairs, and display/signage, right?

(except for the tent on wheels) If it don't fit in/on the Fatmax, I don't take it! haha... I can say that now anyway. My kit ain't that big yet. Laughing But yes, 20 lbs make a big difference.

Haha I didn't even look at the weight...I blame taxes for my lack of brain.

Definitely go light - light plus table/side bag = better!

After looking at it more, it doesn't say product weight. It says shipping weight. I'm going to call and see if I can get a product weight.

i have the EZ up chair which was recommended by Kerry Anne Smith (About Face II ) and I love it. It is sooo light but durable and the bag is easy to carry. She works out her chairs a lot, so she should know about it being durable!

It's great for restaurant, festival, and wedding gigs to name a few. When the kids are on the chair, they and you are easier to see, so you get the "wow" factor. Plus I think it looks more professional when you have it.

I personally find that each event provides a different challenge for the items you need to bring. If I am to provide my own set up, I bring the following (which can't be put on a fat max.)
-1x 4ft table
-2x directors chairs
-1x 5gallon jug of water, with a spigot (req by health board)
-1x 4litre of painting water
-2x poster frames with display pics
-1x fat max (which contains the rest of my supplies.)
-tent or umbrella optional, dependent upon location

My sister in-law is always amazed by what I pull out of my car for a set up, she says it's like a clown car (it's a small car, but holds alot.) Smile

So it doesn't matter to me, cuz I know i'm already going to have to take a few trips to unload. Sometimes I will ask the facility to provide a cart for transporting.

I finally got a hold of someone! The product weight of the Earth chair is only 13lbs. So I think I'm going to go with that!

Re: Chairs - undecided

Post by ChangingFaceDesigns on Fri Apr 23, 2010 7:01 pm

Whooooo hooooooo ordered my earth chair (heavy duty tall executive) and cute lil table today. Can't wait till it comes.... my back is doing back flips in anticipation of it's arrival.... lol Very Happy

The only downfall for me as a face artist has been that I am so tall. I am 6ft tall 90% of that being legs lol

So it was always hard for me to paint kids in a standard height chair or even paint them with us both in the same level height chair. The constant being hunched over for hours on end. I don't feel it while I am working especially if I have a busy line................. But go to stand up......and whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Shocked

The pain from the stiffness is enough to make your eyes roll back in your head. Plus I prefer to stand and paint anyway.

My EZ Up chair is on order... it's costing me a bundle but it's my mother's day present AND it's going to have "Perry Noia the Scaredy Clown" embroidered in big pink letters on the back facing the seat side.... awesomeness in professionalism. Very Happy

I couldn't get any of them from amazon because they wouldn't ship them to Canada.... it's ok though, I'm really excited about getting this one... all black with pink embroidery and a carry bag....
