Re: Freezing Henna
I have tried to freeze henna several times, and the consistency was the same. I don't know if the staining power went down, since I used it for test, so removed it right away. But it still sainted the hand for more than a week!
Re: Freezing Henna
You can freeze and refreeze your paste. Depending on the type of paste you use, it will cause some degradation in the quality. I suggest freezing your henna in usable amounts so you do not have to refreeze naughty word often. Also, if your freezer has a light in it, wrap your henna paste and powder (yes, you even freeze the powder to keep it fresh) in something that is opaque. The light can actually degrade your paste and powder as well.
Re: Freezing Henna
LOL.....I have NO idea why it did that.....I had typed "so you don't have to refreeze as often" I must have made a typo on the "AS"....LOL
Re: Freezing Henna
refreeze is a naughty word... lol... I guess I'll have to add that to my list of new naughty words. Thanks for the info. My daughter is getting lots of requests, but they are at different days & times & I feel like we are wasting a lot of henna. I'm still not sure what 1 persons amount of henna is.
I feel like when we 1st started face painting & I had drippy, wet runny sponge... I only had 1 & it was round... not 1/2ed(I was slam dunking my sponges in my coffee water & wringing them back out into the water... LOL!).

Re: Freezing Henna
I would take 1 small to medium cone (about 2 oz) for every 10-12 hennas provided they are small designs. For medium designs you should figure one for every 8-10, and for large (detailed full hand pieces), one cone for every 4-5. Then if it is a big gig, I always bring one extra cone for unexpected guests.
