abstract eye design

Post by ChangingFaceDesigns on Wed May 19, 2010 7:45 pm

Slideshow pictures are slightly out of order. Picture #1 actually shows up as #3 in slide show.

Wolfe essentials black and white and Twilight split cake. Used 2 # 4 rounds

Here's mine, and Whoo Hoo I made a video!!!! (Heads up... there's music in it after I finish gabbing. Awesome blues so crank it up, or turn it down, depending on setting)

So step 1: use wolfe white and sponge on white from mid nose, over eye towards the forehead at an angle

Step 2: Use wolfe black to make tiger markings around the border using a number 4 brush.

Step 3: fill in white area with more markings and outline eye

Step 4: for added pizzaz I added gold glitter gel on the markings

Re: Post Submissions Here!

Post by Tilly - Formerly Punky on Fri May 21, 2010 12:15 am

Am I too late?? I hope not, I finaly got motivated enough to throw this design together when I got home from class tonight. This is my first ever submission for a monthly competition on this forum, so yeah, still testing the water on this one! If I am too late, I don't care, I wasn't expecting to win with this one anyway, just wanting to participate, show you fine people my design, and get the expirience! Hope you like it! I'm not very computer savvy, so I ddin't even attemp the slide show for my first submission, but maybe next time!

Materials used:
Brushes - #4 round brush, #0 short liner, home-made small butterfly brush.
Paints - (all DFX) black, white, light blue, dark blue, green, lime green, metallic green, and yellow.

Step 1 - double load #4 round with light blue and dark blue and make several tear drops to make about 2-3 six petaled flowers. Use a mix of green and metallic green to make leaves with #4 round.

Step 2 - Using #4 round and green mix from step 1, make vines out of swirls. Use #0 short liner to make the small curls off the large vines.

Step 3 - Use the #0 short liner to make clusters of white dots to be the baby's breath flowers. Use #0 brush to make lime green highlights on leaves and vines.

Step 4 - Outline flowers, leaves, and hightlight vines with black using the #0 short liner.

Step 5 - Add yellow dots to centers of flowers with #0 short liner, and make a small half butterfly with small butterfly brush, Yellow, black, and white. using #0 short liner, add white highlightes to tips of flowers and edges of leaves.

The Final Product!!! Gasp! Ooohhh!! Aahhhh! Laughing flower

(P.S. Please excuse my horrible complexion! Ya'll caught me on a bad day! lol!)

I hope to get the voting up sometime today.

Everyone please make sure you have your step by steps and a final picture posted if you used a slide show. I won't have time to go in a remind everyone. If the stuff isn't there, I can't include it in the voting.

I really like so many of the designs in this challenge, it will be hard to vote.

Can we still only vote for one entry? Smile

What it the normal definition of a one eye design? How much of the face would that cover? cyclops

I think it was decided that we submit what we each consider an eye design, and as a voter one votes for what they consider the best eye design. Very free-flowy and non-restrictive that way.
