Re: How to I get more organized?
I get it now...that's terrific! I didn't think of putting the handle piece below, that's a great idea & gives me more working space there & up above. Thanks so much for sharing, the pic really offers more ideas for me. All that's left now is to add some velcro! Thanks again Psalmbook!
Re: How to I get more organized?
I'm pretty new at this... pretty much got into the biz this past April, so I'm constantly trying new ways to set up... after last weekend of trying yet another extra accessory at a gig I think I've determined that less really is more!
I carry pretty much all my painting supplies in a Crop In Style NaNavigator Rolling Tote... it's big enough to hold everything pictured here, plus my folders with random papers and small books in a flat front pocket, and side pockets hold things like my keys, extra paint pots, business cards, sunscreen, etc. It cost me $65 with a 40% off coupon at Joanns. The white wire shelf I got at a dollar store (I think it's supposed to be for dishes) the legs fold up and it fits perfectly in my rolling tote. The plastic container with all my paints came from a craft store by the scrapbooking products. This also fits perfectly in the tote. I have more sponges, but I only put out what I think I'll need for the event... no sense keeping a heaping pile out if I'm only going to use 10.
Then I have one large tote bag that holds a plastic bucket for dirty water (mine is a bazooka bubble gum bucket I got at Walmart for about $5, plus it was filled with gum... bonus!), my table top sign/business card holder, a collapsible "laundry hamper" that I use for trash (looks like a duck and cost me $1.50 at Target), 1 gallon water jug, a table cloth, & tip jar. I also have some signs and my directors chair that have to be carried separately (although I'm devising a way to add a backpack feature to the chair so I can just carry it on my back!) All in all I think I've found what works... I usually put paper towels down in front of my containers so that way I don't get paint from sponges or brushes all over the table and then just throw it away at the end. I'm not very happy with my brush holder, so I'm trying some different options there. The nice thing is when it's apart it doesn't take up much room in my tote.

Re: How to I get more organized?
Hi Amanda!
It's good to see you here!
As for me and my kit...we're magnets and separate cases all the way. That way I can cater my kit to the event without having to bring everything out. Church event, I just take one kit of all Snaz with a good liner black/white and some mini blends. It's a snap to swap out paints and it deters the curious ones who like to pick up your paints when they discover that there's effort invovled in picking up a pot of paint.

Ditto - take out - put it back.
Everything has a place. Even if it isn't an exact place - I can't hassle with putting my brush in a holder - I don't have time at 2-4 min faces to find the round hole in the holder! But my brush are always laid in the same area on my stand.
Most painters take way too much product with them when they paint. Especially newer painters - scale down. Try three glitters instead of 12 - really a great iridescent is all you need. Use less and add in products as you gain speed, confidence and organization.

Re: How to I get more organized?
I agree Loretta... I used to take tons of glitter with me but now I just have a poof bottle of white holographic and use it for everything. It's fantastic and takes up so much less room!
Re: How to I get more organized?
LOL! I know I take a lot, but I do use all the paints. I have some I use on little kids, some I use just for older kids, adults & teens & powders for icky sticky events & fidgety kids. I love playing! I do only use 1 glitter, the white holographic & see no reason to use others.
Re: How to I get more organized?
you can go to menards and get a large tool box on wheels. or a fat max... I bought the large tool box at menards for 50.00. it has 3 drawers, one bottom part that pulls out.. i put my sponges table cloths, and flyers.. ice cube tray... the one from wall mart...all go in the bottom part.. the top lid opens up and in there i put my photo book, business cards glitter.mirrors etc.. these tool boxes help out.. and make it easy to transport your supplies
