Face Painting Logo

Post by Psalmbook on Fri May 21, 2010 6:51 am

I want a logo, but I'm not sure how to go about getting one. I've had a request for my logo for a not-for-profit I'll be working with. I've been using a photo of my daughter w/ a butterfly painted on her face.
Is that considered tacky for a logo?
Do you have a logo?
Did you design it yourself or get someone else to do it?
Are their free programs to do it?
Thanks!

Linda, I'm a graphic designer (I have a BS in Industrial Design) if you need me... I still don't have a logo for myself because it's so hard to do one for "myself" kwim?

You can also go to Etsy and either do a search-- or post in the Alchemy area... I've designed simple logos there for $5-15- some can go up to over $100 though.
You need vector art (aka Adobe Illustrator or similar)- best for resizing and printing.

This is mine - my cousin is a designer, and she did it for me - I don't have a clue how to make my thoughts translate like that!

I don't know if I'd use a fp design - only because I know personally, my work is getting better, and my technique is changing, and I don't want to be unhappy/unsatisfied with my logo in a years time, you know?

My first logo was of my daughter. I abandoned that one when my business changed, and have stopped using my art on stuff, cause I focus on what I could have done better as my skills improve. (And as I discovered DFX white!)

I don't have photo shop(I have a netbook, so I'm a little limited).

I thought the same thing w/ using a photo. I've already improved past the butterfly face of my daughter & wish I could redo it. It's on all my cards & on most free party sites....
