there's a medical reason why the nose hurts soooo much more, idk if it'd be appropriate to say it on here, but the point is I'm not surprised it was the most painful.

BTW I LOVE that design Michelle! And Bec, what a bold design! that would get anyone's attention! And I like the St. Louis one, it's awesome that you took it another step to make it more personal for you!

Hey just a side question I've been thinking of getting my nose pierced for quite some time now, I noticed you have yours done. Did it really hurt & how long afterwards until it settled down. I think they look so cool.

I've had them on two different sides..not at the same time...but took them out again...they never really settled down...it hurts for a bit, but not very long...

great design, Bec!

Hey Hey,
On the piercing issue... I had my nose done ( with a gun) and they did it on a nerve... it was so painfull I had to take it out, I had it re-pierced more forward and it was fine. I still have it now but only wear a nose ring occasionally because I lose them all the time! I then got my tounge done with the hook... and serious...OUCHY! Couldn't kiss or smoke or whistle for weeks, and I sounded like an idiot when I talked for three days.
Long story short three years later my man and I have both had to have root canals because the tongue ring stops you being able to clean your teeth with your tongue. I spend my days now warding people off the tongue rings!...
sorry so off topic....

OK here is my offering for the contest. I sat down and had no idea what I was going to do. Just started to paint and here we are. I had to go back and quickly do a step by step so the pics may be slightly out of order.

My take on the stars and stripes colors used are all DFX

Step 1. create confetti tube using 1" flat & my homemade(patriotic) splitcake back to back(2 swipes) creating swirls at
the end
Step 2. starting adding white streamers and falling confetti stars using #2 round
Step 3. add tear drops around swirls for accent
Step 4. add streamers in red & blue, line eyes with blue & white, outline starts in blue all done with #2 round
Step 5. add blue accents to teardrops
Step 6. add white dots to eyes and voila

One of my hubby's friends got his tongue pierced back when it was a new thing to do. I'll never forget how hard I laughed when he started talking and said, "I dibd bit becabausebd itbits coobl(translation: I did it because it's cool)." All I could think is, you sound like a dork(sorry if I offend anyone with tongue piercings... You'd have to have been there).

Changing Face , that's a wonderful and vivid design, but you need to have at least 3 step by step pics for the comp.
I love you

Here is my Canada Day Beaver. I've been doing it for about a year and there is always a boy who asks for it. For the demo tonight I tried dfx white for the mask, I usually use snaz and like the snaz much better for this design. I also moved the red stripes out after the discussions about the red on the eyes. Here it is the rest of the colours are paradise. I sponged the mask and the brown, black and white, just used a brush to outline in black and red.
My model is my delightful 14 year old who won a general proficiency award at school today as well as earning honour roll with distinction. -I'm so proud of him!
