Paradise 30 color pallet question

Post by vampkat on Thu Jun 17, 2010 8:34 pm

So I'm trying to try out different paints. I got the 16 color snazzaroo pallet, and I'm looking at the paradise 30 color pallet..but it doesn't say anywhere I can find how much is in each of the paints. Are they the same size as the snazzaroo pallets?

HI,
I can't tell you if they are the same size, but they call that paradise 30 'sampler' for a reason. They are very small, maybe less then 18 mls.
I'll have a look on the Mehron site and see if I can get an exact amount for you.
Ok nope. Strange they don't seem to sell refills for them either.

Yeah, that's why I asked...I couldn't find that information ANYWHERE. I know they will be small, but are they smaller then the snazzaroo pallets...larger...I just want to know what I'm getting before I decide if I want to buy that or some of the mid-sized pallets that have 7g sizes.

I found this on siilly farm:

Refill Pack: The Paradise refill pack is a 2 pack of refill size paints for the Paradise palettes. The refills are .25oz of paint and are about the size of a quarter. They will each paint approximately 25-60 designs..

Yes Wolverine is right. I have two of those palettes one of which I made into a whole pallete of split cakes. It is a good place to start and will give you a great sampling of the Paradise line. You can also pop out the extra white and blacks and put in the Glimmer sized pots of glitter. It is perfect for doing small parties or just cheek art. I have had mine for over a year and I use it more than occassionally and have yet to replace any of the paints!

i think they are appox 10 grams or around the same amount that is in an arty cake if that gives you an idea. not a ton of paint, but def a good way to sample all the colors and either buy the refills or make you a split cake pallette like alicia did.

alicia, can you post that pic again

I know a lot of painters who work out of this palette. When on the job you don't really need as much paint as most painters carry. I see this as a great palette for doing private parties like birthdays. I have several clown friends who have me get refills for them.

The cakes are the size of a large eyeshadow cake - 7 grams. They do come in refills two to a pack. The big palettes are also great.

Where do you get the refills? Do you carry them Metina? Great idea to make split cakes with some.

I have considered carrying them, but don't really see much demand for them. Who out there actually continues to use the small palettes after they try all they paint?

It's good if you are trying out the colors, after that, really... the only real use is for cheek art

I have this pallet and love it!! I have painted many gigs with it and have not went through any of the colors yet. I have bought the large size now, and have been making split cakes and I can cut a chunk to refill the small pots from them. Very hand way to try all the colors!!

This truly is just a sampler, you will work through every color very quickly and having to constantly re-order those little cups will probably cost you even more than purchasing the larger sizes in the first place. It's a great way to sample the colors though, think free sample at your local makeup counter.

Have a question about the 30 sampler pallet? If I bought the 40 gram pots would I be able to stick them on the other side of the pallet case so when I open the case flat, I have the smaller pots on one side and the larger pots on the other? Has anyone tried this? I was just wondering because I figure it would save space by just opening it and laying it flat and have all of my paints layed out for me.

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question

Good question - I didn't mind the smell at all of the Paradise black so was planning on getting the larger kit with the pots (12 colors). But of course am unsure what colors I'll like use. Since I'm still "practicing" this seems an optimum solution and can take me into doing private parties. Then after time goes on I can graduate to the 12 color palette - but keep this for making my own split cakes. I have gotten a lot of uses out the snaz little 8 color kit from Michaels and I think those are just 2 ml? I could be wrong about that. For black and white of course I have the larger pots. What glimmer pots are mentioned above? A Mehron product?

Anyone know the answer to this? I am guessing that you can't, but if anyone knows for sure. I wanted to try the same thing.
