Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
You can opened up the case and while it is laying flat, stick the pots on the other side, but you can not store them in the case when it's closed along with the sampler paints still inside. Even if you take everything out, I tried with my 45gm Wolfe & no lids, the case doesn't stay closed...don't have any 40gm to test for you. So in terms of table set-up, yes less space, but for transport, you'd still need something else. Hope that helps.

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
I also thought this would be a great way to sample the colours, it is my little travel set for playdates (my daughters friends love to be painted) I can still do full faces and load sponges for them, and I bring it to gigs just in case

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
So I only have a few Paradise in the regular sizes (smell doesn't bother me and I like the way it blends). Have considered a palette to try some other colors but would like to know how the tropical palette compares to the 30-sampler in terms of paint volume. Anybody know?

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
I love Paradise and am very experienced using it.
The 30 Palette has thirty 7 gram cakes and the Tropical Palette has eight 7 gram cakes. Each pro cake is 40 grams.
The 30 Palette of course lets you see most all the colors, the Tropical Palette (
is that color line.
Paradise colors can be broken down by color line. Basic, Pastel, Tropical, Nuance and Metallics. The colors in each line works with the other colors in that line. The various lines have been created with the color wheel in mind. Certainly the makeups cross color lines nicely, allowing you the artist to be creative and unique.
The Tropical colors are among the most popular of the lines.
The small palette is very nice, a sliver case with a nice size mirror and place for your brush. It does come with a small flat brush. A great size for parties and face art when body painting or doing extreme beauty makeup or for your own use.
You can't go wrong with the pro cakes maybe jump right to them with three or so select tropicals. Very popular are Amazon Green, Beach Berry, Lime, Wild Orchid and Lagoon Blue.
If you have some pro cakes - get a Mehron pro case and just add in some tropical colors.
I work out of either 2 or 4 cases, opened then in becomes one or two cases. These fit perfectly on my custom made stand. As for 45 gram Wolfe makeup as noted above they do fit in the cases w/o the lids. However they need to be pushed in the foam a bit to have the case shut perfectly each time. I like to re-pot any other brands into empty paradise containers as I prefer an upscale uniform look.
Prices here at the Face Paint Forum shop are the same as the store linked above in this thread.

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
I have the 30 color Paradise pallette and have gotten a lot of use from it. I have yet to run out of any color. I don't know about the 45gm Wolfe but all my other DFX, TAG, Mehron full size cakes fit in nicely.

Yes you can put the sampler 30 colors on one side and the 40 grams on the other side and my case closes, hope that helps.

Re: Paradise 30 color pallet question
I startedoff with two of the paradise pallettes (the 8 color ones) and I still love them. They're easy to take if I want and you can buy refills for them. I will admit that I don't use them as much as I did, but as I have run out of colors I have replaced them with the bigger sizes.
I got the tropical and the regular and they were I think $25 each at the time. I also highly recomend a DFX black and white. I love paradise, truly, it blends wonderfully, it lies nice on the skin, and I like the way it smells, but it's not the best for linework imo
