www.gimp.com
I asked you guys about what kind of camera I needed a while back and someone mentioned gimp as a great editor that is free. I would like to come back and confirm for everyone, gimp is amazing!!!! I borrowed a simple camera and ended up with the photo that is now my profile picture. Gimp is an awesome tool for anyone as I am not a techy person and somehow managed to figure some of it out. I still have a ton to learn on it, but I am so excited about the possibilities it offers. I love it!!
Re: www.gimp.com
I'm glad
I took an online course on advanced photo editing a while back but I can't afford even photoshop elements, so gimp gave me a way of doing most of the stuff they were doing as long as I took a little extra time to find out how to do it a little differently.
If you find that areas of your image are too light or too dark, go into the "levels" settings and experiment with moving the sliders at the bottom of the graph that comes up. I use that more than anything on a lot of my photos.
