Anybody going? I will be teaching cartoon characters =)

Not this year.

I would LOVE to be there, but sadly, like Shannon, not this year. I like to combine it with a trip home to see the family - maybe in 2011 if I can - but I hope its hugely successful and that you enjoy yourself! It's great to see someone is teaching cartooning. We have one instructor here who is gagging to teach cartoonng at Bodyssey...but I can't shoehorn him in..... I'd come to the class if I were going to be there!

Class description:

Cartoon Characters
This is not a class that teach you how to paint copyrighted material, like Superman or Donald Duck. It will teach you how to make your own cartoon characters. But why would you want to do that? Imagine you are out on a job and someone wants to have their border collie, a Philippine eagle or an axolotl painted on them. You might have an general idea about how they look, but that is about it. By using basic anatomy and exaggerate the characteristics - that the kid is more than happy to tell you about - you can create almost anything on the spot.
Mix it with a natural placement on the face, maybe using the mouth or eye as part of the design, you will even have a character that merge with the child's expression.
We will also cover linework, colours and the use of background or not.
It will mostly be about animals, but people like faeries, mermaids, angels and demons can also be demonstrated.

It will be the same time as Kurt Drake and April Powell, so hope someone will show up! Else I will go to their class *lol*

Definitely want to do you class, cos my placement can be really off and slighty scarey. The Friday night jam should be fun...

It has a rainbow in it....

The theme is "Over the Rainbow" so probably all designs will have rainbows...
