Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
No, I know of painters who sit w/ 2 stools next to it & do just fine.
Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
I actually find it *easier* to work out of sitting down - you can easily access all three levels. When standing you will notice that many of us try to put our most-accessed things on the top level - even then to load the brush etc. it is still a bit of a stoop down or back bend for many of us! Give it a try at a Lowes...
For me I like the freedom to move around (I get better angles when painting someone's right face side - my weak spot!) so I will be standing. But in general if I were a better painter I would prefer to keep seated! (Maybe I should just practise painting my weaker side, eh!?)

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
So later today I will be doing a smaller scale childrens carnival......now that I think about it I really need to be sleeping right now instead of posting. Anyway today wil be the debut of my Fatmax set up. I have had it loaded up since I got it a lil over a week ago and have been working out of it at home. I am pretty pleased with the placement of items/accessories, so it should all run smoothly.....(at least in a perfect world anyway).
My main purpose for the Fatmax was to have a place to securely and neatly house all my FP stuff in one place thus reclaiming my dining room...for actual dining....lol also as my work station for smaller scaled events/parties where carrying my table would just be too bothersome/cumbersome to deal with.
Will let xha know how things go......will try to take pics

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
I have been thinking of the fatmax for a year. Why not, I deserve it. If I don't like it, I have no doubt my husband will find a use for it in the garage. Going shopping!
Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
Y'all are killing me!!! I've been wanting one for forever! Wish I had the money to spare!!
Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
So here is my fatmax set up. Got this and that idea from everyone and come up with something that I think will work for me. So far I really like it, but I've only practiced at the house out of it, lol!!

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
Lol, oops! I hit send instead of preview. I was trying to see if the pics turned out huge again & they did, lol, I'm a nerd! Anyway wanted to tell ya'll a little more bout what I had going on.
On the top level toward the "back" I have my dry stuff, starblends and lumier powders and a cool idea I heard about from somewhere, my smoothie blenders in a pool noodle. I just cut a slit across the bottom and two to fit over the sides, LOVE it!! Also on the top I have my brushes, yes I have many more, just didn't have them set out cuz I was just practicing on my kids. With that being said, the brushes don't hit my arm cuz they are lower and the blenders are up higher, no prob for me-so far.
The second level I have a white net bag, that gets cliped to the side where I put my used sponges. In it's place I put my extra white and black that I'll pick up to do like work with.
The bottom level I have covered with the trey from the top level, as someone else had mentioned, perfect for hiding the purse! The treys of stamps are for super easy cheek art. Got the idea for that from someone at the LaFete Convention, I'm SO sorry I don't remember her name, I was very overwhelmed.
NOW, for the coolest tip!! My mom picked up a fatmax as well. Dad was sitting by her and he had a TV tray table infront of him-It's the perfect hight to slide underneath the lid for support!! Now pay attention, kinda hard to describe. There is a small lip on the edge of the lid, it's big enough to set on the table, but you cannot slide the whole table underneath. Now, for those of you who stand(I sit) it gives you that extra space to put more stuff on while still supporting. For those of us who sit, it'll give extra space for business cards, maybe a mirror, or what ever you would like a little extra room for. YAY MOM for figuring this out!
Hope my info helps someone! Thanks for letting me share all my details! HEHEHE!

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
While I do think it looks amazing... I've been doing this so long that I am in downsizing mode... I'm taking less and less stuff with me.
Just be careful lifting those things in and out of your cars!!

Yes, the weight can be an issue(I keep a 5 gallon water in the bottom & it can be quite heavy).
Love the tv tray idea but don't want to carry it... Maybe for festivals where I end up bringing more anyway.

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
Carry the TV tray? I keep a few bungee cords in mine. What doesn't fit inside, gets strapped to the front! My small extra table and director's chair fit nicely on the front. You just have to rig it so it doesn't slide down.
Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
Lol, I'm so retarted with the details, my friend picks on me all the time. I like to call it important or helpful information.
I have a minivan & we have taken one of the seats out so that it's easier to get the kids in and out. With the van already set up like that, putting maxi in and out is no prob! What'll ya know having kids helped, hehehe!
Bungee cords, hmmm, I like that!
Thanks!

Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
Yep, the mini-van helps. Bungee cords.... I could fit a whole circus in & on my fatmax w/ those
Re: Bought a new FatMax... love it, but....
I have bungee cords and never thought of strapping something to them for transporting. Thank you for the tip about strapping the chair to it. My Fatmax fits perfectly in the back of my Lexus RX 330. Just the right height.
Please remember proper lifting practices ladies........lift/lower from the knees...(no bending over) your back will thank you. Don't want any of you to harm yourselves.
