Is it just me, or are cases like these seeming to pop up more often now? I guess it's just a sign of the times that people are becoming too lazy to put in work of their own to acheive the results we all work so hard for.

Re: competions display board

People do it all the time. I was at an event and the lady around the corner was using a pic my cousin did on her daughter. Personally, I have done it from time to time when I was getting started, but only on faces I couldn't use with my mug... Nobody is gonna get a princess design with a guy as the model. Now of course I just bring my idea sheets.

Maybe I don't care because I put up so many pics and just tell people they can use my stuff... As long as they can actually do the design justice. After all, if they can't it is only going to make them look bad, not me.

Now, a website is completely different of course, but for boards, I don't care. I take it as a compliment.

Just my two cents. I am obviously in the minority on this one... But hey, somebody has to be.

hey clayton - I think the differentiator here would be someone using your pictures at an event you are working as well.... how would you feel then?

and they crop out your face so it's just the design so people can't even tell it's you?

I would be fuming...

No I understand what you mean by taking it as a compliment, in a "way" I do, but I dont want this ugly mug plastered on someone else's board!!!

Oh and I guess I should also add that I always swapped out the images as soon as I had a chance to do them.

My new board is going to have all your pictures & say "here's the pics of all the people who paint better than me... Be prepared for disappointment."

Lol, if she was trying to insult anyone, it would be herself. I get what psalmbook is saying, however I always made sure I could paint anything I put up on my board. You just aren't going to see any pics of me trying to figure out how to paint them on myself.

YIKES! I'm hoping that didn't come off the wrong way! I meant that it would be an insult to put other peoples awesome work on my board & then have them expect mine to turn out the same. I think everyone on here is great!
I hope this clears it up a bit Embarassed
