My mirror cost $4 and came from Target - it has a nice rubber type frame around it and is a nice size - not to mention that I've dropped it quite a few times and it hasn't broken yet.

I have one of these also. My main complaint is that anytime the table gets bumped, it falls over. Kind of annoying.

I have an acrylic mirror I bought online from Bibi Newmans site in the UK.

http://www.facepaint-uk.com/

It's much cheaper shipping for me in Ireland and has terrific selection. I really like it, it was a good size for my paint box, small enough for my face paint box but big enough to be a good working mirror. Regarding the corners, they're sharp but they don't actually cut or hurt you (I dont' recall anyone actually sticking my mirror in their eye!! haha).

When I point out to parents that it's acrylic and they can pick it up, they do an 'impressed' face, like they acknowledge I've chosen things for my kit which are safe (and... well... I have).

I might tape the sides neatly with insulation tape so they dont' 'hesitate' when they see it.

I took my first face painting class from Bibi at the London School of Face Painting! She also hooked me up to volunteer at the Notting Hill Carnival(amazing beyond belief). She is da bomb!

I have the mirror from Bibi and think I need to get a new one and then take better care of it. It is very scratched now.

I decorated it with nail polish around the edge, so you can't see fingerprints so easy and still was easy to clean with either water and alcohol.

I use a large compact mirror (about the size of your hand) I love the idea of a non breakable mirror I had one at some point when i started but it has since walked away. My compact mirror has been in my kit since day one and I just like it. Its compact but the kids can easily see their faces. But thats just me. I dont allow the kids to hold it anyway. I recently saw a lady that had the side of her cart turned into a mirror it was some kind of reflective wallpaper/shelf paper. You could tell it wasnt real glass but you could see your self in it. I thought about turning the side of my kit into one big mirror. I just have to find that stuff.

I have a medium size mirror with a folding handle that acts like a stand when not in use......small easy to pack and got it at the dollar store, works great!

Just want to update that I like this mirror better now. Thanks to you guys I filed the edges (took less than a minute) and now I LIKE having this on my table, standing up. It stills gets all smeary with fingerprints, but overall I am warming up to this mirror...

I got my mirror at Five Below for about $3 and it ROCKS! it's a Conair mirror and I'd highly recommend checking out Five Below if you have one in your area!
