I'm so excited to see this video--I have a photography studio, and these will be awesome for it!!! Custom made wings are hard to come by. I'll post mine as soon as I get them done. YAY!! Thank you!

Can you please let me know where you buy packs of knee high white stockings? If I google it I have to go through so many sites for sexy lingerie!!!

ZombieElli, they look great!

Let me add my praise to what's already been expressed here--WOW.

I'm impressed not by just the overall process but by how cleverly you've covered the potentially hurtful wires.

Also, and possibly off topic a bit-- You connect your lines and swirls in ways I might not ever think of. I wonder does anyone know of a place online, a type of artwork, or something I can look at for inspiration as I practice, practice, practice? I mean specifically the lines, swirls, connecting bits, etc. that show up on Metzpah's amazing wings?
Seems like as a kid this kind of thing came more naturally...I doodled all over notebooks, etc...and some random patterns like the things we all do for money started developing right there on the page.
These days, though, I'd love something to emulate first, until it feels natural enough to go it solo...

While absolutely gorgeous and inspiring... I'm gonna cheat!! Laughing

I bought a great pair of wings at Value Village for $7.99... nice BIG ones. I am going to be wearing them in a play (I'm the Fairy Godmother again) and will embellish profusely!!

Photos to follow - probably not till I've got the whole costume together.

cheating's good too Wink. I sometimes find the quality needs a little boost on store bought. At the costume shop when I was running the register a couple years ago over the Halloween rush I would make suggestions to people buying wings about how they could do this or that to make them more special hehe Smile

I think that I may get inspiration from art nouveau borders and jewelry. At least that is a good source for swirls and curls.

Metzpah: That's what I was thinking, too--one of my fave styles and periods.
Thanks! Smile Any sources for art nouveau that you like? I have the dover books, but they're...well...kinda crap. At least for that kind of thing. I try to look for jewelry and ornamental fonts online....

Wow... that's amazing, and also looks decently easy to make overall. I'm assuming this is easily a few hour process, but I would love to try it some day. Smile Thanks so much for sharing!!

Bumping an old thread - cause I just want to thank Metzpah for the lovely tutorial I found on YT today, then I came here to find inspiration for fairy face painting to find its a fellow face painter who taught me how to make wings lol - small world Smile

I do have a question though if anyone can help me, is how can I tighten the stockings to shape if I want it to be more whimsical in shape? TIA
