Help please!

Post by SEZnz on Mon Aug 16, 2010 5:11 am

So my balloons have arrived (yay!) but i'm totally lost! I've been watching the vids on balloon-animals.com but am finding them so confusing! The videos are mostly shot at a distance and I just can't see the detail enough to do the same moves at my stage. will be a great site once I've got the hang of it i'm sure.

What balloons did you all start off making? and do you have a preferred youtuber to watch for a newbie?

thanks heaps!

He does shoot his from far away and they can be hard to understand.

Try others on youtube.com till you get the hang of what the twists are. One guy I like(though he is a bit "different") is happycabbie. He has loads.

Here are a few others that are well done.

Back when I was doing balloons, I started off teaching myself mostly with this website: Balloon HQ There are just a ton of resources there, including step-by-step instructions (not video) of tons of stuff. And answers to a lot of questions that you haven't even thought of yet! Razz

I never watched any videos when I was learning (that was pre-youtube) - those ones you linked to are awesome, Metina!!

my first few balloons were made with another clown right there, so I didn't really have trouble moving over to the videos from there.... if you can find someone near you that knows how and could just show you a few things, I'm sure you could get it going quickly.

My first few balloons were a dog, teddy bear, tiger and parrot.... from there I learned the frog, monkey and butterfly from online and no looking back.

I love happycabbie videos.
I'd start w/ the basics, sward, dog, cat, butterfly, floppsy daisy. Learn petal twist, pinch twist, what 1" bubble means, 2' inch bubble, etc, bird body, etc. Once you know what these terms mean, it helps. If you can find a jam, that'll help too. I went to one in Orlando & my balloon twisting improved greatly!

I learned through the book kits from borders lol. the videos are too fast sometimes. If you can do the puppy you can do the giraffe, elephant, cat, tiger, parrot and more!
