Re: Box whith personnals mixed colours ?
As much as you can do it - I'm kinda wondering why you would need to.
I understand maybe you don't want the expense of buying every color on it's own, but you can just blend the colors together on top of the cake to get the desired shade no? - May be I'm missing something.......?
Maybe other brands don't 'blend' together as well as my paradise do - I haven't tried mixing other brands.
Am I the only one that mixes on the cake?

It is one way to use up bits of leftover and yukky colours you end up with. Some colours you never use so you can mix them with something and get a colour you actually DO use... like mixing Snaz gold or silver (which most agree are not great) with brown or grey and you then get a shimmery coppery brown that works great for animals and a silvery grey for cats, etc.
When you want to sponge it doesn't really work to mix colours on top of the cake.
When you get freebies and prizes and gifts of paint they aren't always colours you use, so it is one way to use them up.
And why not mix your own? If cost is an issue you buy two and then you can make a third, fourth or even fifth colour/shade from them!
And no, I never mix colours ON my cakes. Too messy for me... I also don't mix the peas and mashed potatos on my plate.

Re: Box whith personnals mixed colours ?
Here I am sitting staring at my leftovers wondering what to do with them - they won't make nice splits unless you like green and red - no no
and then I read Shannon's post and go - DER! How dumb am I ?
Shannon is gushing useful information today - her well of experience and information is flowing over!
Thanks Shannon.
But seriously no peas in your mash? what if one just kinda sneaks in - do you reject the mash? or the pea? lmao
I mix everything - my food my paints and even mixed races to make my daughter! lol

Re: Box whith personnals mixed colours ?
Thank you very much all and specially Shannon !
It's a pleasure to read you
My idea is: If I buy chromacake MACpro, "only" 12 colors but they have primary colors ( "red" magenta, blue cyan, primary yellow ) and work faster (than mixed on the top and find the good one) with for exemple the green lime
that I prefer, under the hand...i'm not sure
that's easy to mix (not so soft like paradise). I can realate my expérience in the futur, now I go to Paris saturday and see
in the shops (and hope touch
or try
)
Yes, too much smiley
, i try them !

Tash, I have mixed paints on the cake for years
I always have two white - one for white and one to mix pastels. The latter is an interesting patchwork of assorted colors

Re: Box whith personnals mixed colours ?
I took some pics at my last gig of my setup... this is without the glitter tattoo stuff (my daughter wasn't with me) and is set up for only one face painter. Usually we would have a painter set up on each side of the table and share supplies. I put most of my paints (except black and white) in the 32-slot container that Metina sells, and I slices the lid at the hinge so that I can take it off and set it under the paints when I'm painting. I took a pic with the lid on so you can see the labels I put over each slot so that I know what paint to order when it gets low. I use many different brands, mostly DFX and Wolfe, with some Snaz and some Kryolan.
