Introductions
I've been posting for a while... but don't like the lime light too much so I have yet to introduce myself. I've been painting since November, but I've always enjoys the artsy fartsy stuff, so this is right up my alley. My family and I live in So. California.
I enjoy making my own splitcake and have had a blast coming up with new color combos. I have recently started making my own glitter tattoo stencils, so you can say I dabble in a bit of this and that. I am also a member of westcoastfacepainters (google groups) as I love getting my face painting friends fix, lol.
Well anyway.............Hello everyone!!!
Hugs helen

Re: Introductions
Here's an official welcome! It's nice to have you here. I love Lilly Walter's w/ westcoastfacepainters & wish I could jam w/ her again!
Re: Introductions
Hi and welcome! I met Lilly at FABAIC this year, she was a great teacher, and I appreciated her willingness to help me with my sad, sad one stroke roses. With her help they are MUCH improved! Hope I can make it next year, I'm always so awestruck by the talent there.

Re: Introductions
I didn't get to go to FABAIC but I was able to go to the convention in Vegas in February........... much closer, so I drove.
I have had the privileged of taking classes from Nick and Brian, Lilly Walters, Rebecca of Arty brush, Pashur, Mark Reid, and even the wonderful Annie Reynolds from Aussie. I feel blessed to have been able to absorb so much creative juices from all of them. They truly inspire!!
Lilly is a wonderful person, and has taught me so so much. I love her set up.... its all about setting up in under 3 minutes. Her help with lines has improved my work immensely.
Rebecca showed me the proper amount of water to paint etc, so that I could actually create much faster designs. I had played with the Arty cakes and just couldn't get it to look right. It was either too wet or too dry and now I can say that I have it down, thanks to her. I love how you can shade outline and blend all in one step. If you get a chance make sure that you take a class from her too.
Mark Reid is a wonderful teacher.... he is the king of tiger strips!! I love the tribals that he teachers too. He also stresses line work practice!!
Pashur is another amazing teacher. My spiders and scorpions have come a long way thanks to him. I also love his way of adding glitter over paint to get a look similar to a glitter tattoos in face designs. Jennifer is a pleasure to get to know.
Annie Reynold does the most exquisite lace work. She breaks it down and makes it so simple. She also teaches some awesome techniques that make made my painting improve 10 fold. Beautiful work, check her out!!!
So If you get a chance, make sure that you take a class from one of the masters!!! Hugs Helen

Re: Introductions
Did you have a great time in Vegas?! I love taking classes, I always learn so much, and my painting is improved in so many ways after each one. I have been lucky enough to have taken classes at FABAIC with everyone on your list but Annie Reynolds. I will have to keep my eye open for her classes!
