Yourpartystop.com anyone?

Post by BluAngL83 on Thu Aug 26, 2010 2:42 pm

Hi guys,
I just received a call from Yourpartystop.com and they are letting my in at 1/2 price b/c there is so much demand in my area, but few that are listed on their site. This price would be locked in forever more, but im still not sure. Have you guys ever been or are on this? How is it? I use gigsalad.com (free) and craigslist to advertise. Thanks for helping.

looks like that one is strictly American, so no, I haven't tried it. I do have a listing on mypartyplanner.com which does help me to show up higher in a google search (at least my listing on there shows up on the first page) and they do link directly to my site without requiring me to pay for the contacts... there's another one I'm thinking of removing on eventective or something because they charge me to contact the people and keep sending me quote requests for weddings and stuff which I can tell are just looking for any entertainer quotes and not specifically a clown.

I ditched eventactive for the same reasons. I never got a gig from them & they kept sending me any junk lead.
Never heard of yourpartystop, but I only use the free companies.

Yeah the normal price is $300, but he was offering $150 and I too get gigs from free sites...so I guess this may be a "no thank you"

I'm getting calls today(3 times!!!) from the same company out of CA about how I can't be found & they can get me top listing. I told them I was looking at google right now & I'm in the 1st spot(normally I'm about 3rd place), so they must not be looking(sounded like they were actually calling from India or Thailand). My attitude is if I can get it for free, why pay $100s?

I say why not try it? $150 you can make in one gig. You get 2 gigs, it's paid for itself. If you get nothing, you don't renew. Who knows, you might get a lot more cause no one else wants to pay for it either. Sometimes you have to spend $$ to make $$. Test the market & give it a try. Negotiate placement & other options, but I don't see any harm in giving it a try.

I get calls all the time from different publications, etc...I'd type in your google search keywords and see if your site comes up before his. You have to put a cap on advertising budgets, it can get to be too much, and it's hard to say where people find you. I try to remember to ask... usually they find my website on google local.

I've never heard of them, either. I'd say start with the free sites that Psalmbook listed first and see how much business that brings in. Then you can decide if you want to fork over your hard-earned money for just a bit more advertising. Who knows, you may not even need it!

I got an email from the same company just the other day... hahahahahahahaha yeah right.

do a google search for "face painter yourcity" and see what comes up... if there's a listing site, get on it... otherwise, don't bother. Actually advertising on google adwords has managed to bump my webpage up considerably in search results besides having a sponsored ad on the first page.
