Greetings from NYC
Hi Everyone,
In my former life, I was graphic designer at a national magazine. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was drawing and an acquaintance said, if you can do that, you should try face painting (she does fp on the side). I felt inspired. Of course! Why hadn't I thought of that before? And I've been hooked (read: obsessed) ever since. I've been scouring this forum and have already learned so much. And I have a lot of questions...
My 4-year-old daughter was my first customer, and insisted on trying (almost) every design in a fp book I got from the library...in one day! I posted some of the pics in my gallery here.
I am looking forward to taking it public and not just practicing on myself in the bathroom at 11pm lol. I would like to try working on the street (outside Central Park, in Union Square Park). As far as I've discovered, I don't need a permit to do so. I'd also at some point like to try birthday parties, which of course brings a seemingly threatening barrage of steps beforehand...professional setup, contracts, insurance, etc. etc. It's a little daunting, but right now I'm just practicing.
I'm very happy to have found this forum.

Re: Greetings from NYC
Hello and Welcome! Take advantage of your daughter's enthusiasm while it lasts and photograph all the designs! Before long, she'll start to run when she sees the brushes coming out
Good luck!
Good luck!
