I took a pic of my paint tray and you can see the gold is sooo much shinier than all the other colors with the mixing powder mixed into it. I also painted a quick fleur de lis and took a pic of it.. I paint A LOT of fleur de lis, especially during football season (being in Saints territory). Before, even using the DFX metallix gold, it was sometimes very hard to get it opaque enough to use on the fleur de lis. Now it's very opaque and solid looking- almost like real gold jewelry-- and doesn't even really need any glitter!

If you like the gold powder, you will love the silver too! It really adds that sheen we are looking for. My terminator and robots looks AMAZING now (my avatar was done before I got the powder - you should see it POP now)...

I don't. But it is really easier than you think! You just take an old fan brush, and dry-brush some dark brown in a few spots under where the outside of the design will be (looks like dirt/bruising and adds depth). Then fill in the basic shape with silver - the whole thing. Then outline in black, "smudge" some of the black while it is still damp, section the silver however you like into like 6-8 sections, and make black "dots" (large) with white highlights for the "bolts". Highlight here and there with white and add whatever else you like, and you have it. It is hard the first time, takes forever, and then it quickly becomes one of your quickest designs! It is just SO forgiving, too.... Looks impressive for not too much work. Just get it down that first time, and you are set!

is the paint soft when you mix the powder through it...or do you just wet the paint and mix it through??

I put in a teaspoon of the mixing powder then a couple of drops of water and then just kept adding a drop or two until I could mix it well, then put the tray into the freezer for a few minutes to solidify the paint again. Works perfectly!

Thank you Michelle Smile. My problem now is that it is all in dutch, and I can't even figure out whether they ship to Denmark, let alone if there is an online ingredient list *G*

DFX Old Gold - better line work than Kryolan Int. Bronze

I don't use a silver so I'm no help but I used to love paradise Silver Bullet.

Thank you VERY much michelle, that was a great help. It contains both 4 kinds of parabenes (including some that are proven bad) and perfume (I think also some that are known to cause allergies in the long run) so I won't be able to use it here in Denmark - unfortunately . It does look gorgous though... *sigh*. But thank you very much for your help, including the offer to ship it to me - very kind

no thanks!...I have to tell it to the webshop owner about the parabenes...although I've never had any complaints...I don't use the silver that much...but last year we painted about 90 persons with this silver and no complaints...luckily...
