Re: 1st time competing ...
First time for me to meet Magna face to face. Let me say, she is as vibrant and original as her body painting. Good on ya girl and I'm proud to say that I know you! Expecting big things from you in the near future. Save me a spot in your classroom when you start giving workshops!!

Re: 1st time competing ...
Bodyssey was my first convention as well as first competition. The theme was 'fashion through the ages'. I learned so much! Now that I got home and wading through my emails etc., I'm going to go through my notes and post a 'highlights' topic. I highly recommend getting to a convention or class somewhere especially when just starting out. This forum has been amazing, but meeting people face to face is great!
Criss ... totally miss you too! Wish we could jam together somewhere. Let me know if you ever consider a trip to the westcoast

Magna Fantastic! Moving forward fearlessly is a wonderful example for everyone. Even though your nerves may have gotten the best of you at moments, or you hit a moment where you were lost and didn't know how to tie it all together because your mind was just fatigued and your body tired, you are better for the journey and came out of the gate blazing! In a day or too you will look at this and be amazed at your growth in such a short period of time. My hat off to you. xoxox

Congrats!
I don't know if I would ever have the nerve or the patience for competing. I am more of a "get it done as good and fast" as you can painter.
How long did this take to paint?

Thanks everyone! Yes, fearless or maybe just naive! I mean, why not?! None of the instructors or anyone that's won before could compete so it was a pretty safe place. It took 5 hours, but the last 2 hours felt like 30 minutes. I had a tonne of detail that I didn't get to. I really hadn't seen a lot of body art yet, so that was an eyeopener too. Overall it was a great experience!
