what I do besides Face Painting

Post by shandi on Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:31 pm

I buy toy horses' especially Breyers and I mutilate them so they become something OOAK and very much Unique.
This is the way it looks before I start.

this is after I've made the cuts and removed excess plastic

this is about three weeks of sculpting the new neck, beard and double mane

When he is finished I'll post another picture before I start painting him, he had more done to his tail today and he may get feathered legs it's a work in progress. When all is said and done and he's ready for sale I will make at a min. $175.00 but I'm pretty sure this guy will be in the 200.00 range depending on his paint job.

That is really cool. I can't wait to see the finished piece. Do you have a website you sell them from? Or take requests? (I'm reminded of the my little pony artist who will do comissions to transform the toys into characters)

Insanely Awesome - I love it from start to finish - I know the Breyer horses are pretty high dollar toys to begin with, so with all the work you put into them, they are worth every penny. My neice collects them as well as American Girl dolls, I've dropped hundreds of dollars on those things for that little princess of mine. I give you props, you rock those horses out.
