Any fellow Aquarium Keepers?
Was just wondering if anyone on the forum other than myself is an aquarium ethusiast? I have a 55 gallon goldfish tank full of all different varieties (WHICH I LOVE) and also a 55 gallon tropica community fish tank (Which I love almost as much as my fat wobbly goldfish) I've kept fish ever since childhoodand wouldnt give it up for anything. Who else out there has some finned friends???
I also have two cats that are spoiled rotten, oddly enough they arent interested in either of the fish tanks, UNLESS they find me paying the tanks more attention than I do them...then they are immediately fascinated and jealous all at the same time.

Re: Any fellow Aquarium Keepers?
I have three axolotls, names Hades, Nyx and Seth in a normal aquarium. Both are they fun to watch, but they are also practical, since they don't require feeding (and water) every day =)
Re: Any fellow Aquarium Keepers?
We used to keep an aquarium, but are down sizing our pet population till hubby is our of college(most our pets are now senior citizens). We do have 2 Betta fish that my daughter keeps in 2 wall sconces meant for floating candles. Teens & candles don't mix, so we went w/ fish instead. They are named Kioma & Tanadon. Kioma is red & very spirited & Tanadon is blue & more melancholy(I know... they're fish but really have different personalities
We are also owned by a 5 yr old Pug, a 13 year old German Shepard, 2 bunnies & a dove. This year we lost our beloved cat of 14 years

Thats really cool psalmbook, I know it's difficult for me to lose any animal, fish included. I don't even want to think about losing a cat, my two are both one of a kind.

Re: Any fellow Aquarium Keepers?
Hi Spectrum,
I don't remember if I asked you where in our fine city you are located?
I have an axolotl also - she lives in a four foot tank with some feeder fish she tries to hunt. She's a golden albino and her name is Jellybean - mainly because she is shaped like one - I have never seen an axy as fat as ours.
She is a great pet - she comes when we call her and she feeds straight from your hands - if you don't mind holding live creepy crawlies for her to eat.
Unfortunately in our climate in Sydney - keeping axies is very hard - should of gone for the tropical fish - we had to buy a very expensive refrigeration system to go with a cylinder filtration system for her, with a spliter to stop there being water aggravation....... sheesh, for everything we have done for her she should be the happiest axy in OZ.
Here's a pic....... not proud of her at all am i? lol

Lone can you share piccies of your too please?

Hey Tash,
I live in the United States, in Virginia. I was just being creative by putting The Emerald City, OZ as my location....like The Wizard of Oz. I love keeping fish, I would not give it up for anything. People assume it's a lot of trouble but once you get your system in place and cycled, it pretty much maintains itself with minimal effort. You just have to buy high quality equip. Thanks for showing me your photo, jellybean is one cool looking creature.
