I understand not entering this design in other contests, but why can't we enter other contests using other designs?

This is wonderful. My fellow facepainters and I are constantly on the lookout for boys faces. I'd love to see some 'quick' boys faces too as boys faces tend to be elaborate which is tough at the big fast gigs.

* When you say: "Original" it has to come right form our imagination? There are some characters from comic books that are really intricated and I will love to try out..

Yes yes I"m having problems with the originality of my designs too.
I have just realised that I have 'stolen' all my boys designs - all of them.
They only look original because I couldn't paint as well as the original artist...lol
I'm having major artists block when it come to coming up with my own boys design.
I had a seven or eight year old boy ask me for a blue butterfly with swirls and blue glitter - with a gem as the body and red lips with glitter the other day.....
wish I had gotten a shot of that! He was sooo happy - and his dad was sitting next to me and he was fine with it - isn't that sweet?

I love love love the kids who think out of the box!

Same here, I have a few really good boy designs that are popular but I've gotten them all from other artists or books... Would superheroes and the like be considered original? I mean, we didn't think up the characters ourselves, but what if we made up the design? It could go either way. I don't want to post something I think is good and have it disqualified due to the way the rules are worded... Clarification would be much appreciated!

lol psalmbook, I think I give the majority of the credit to the model who sat very still and let me take his time. Although I did need to coax to look fierce, lol he just this huge cheesy smile when he saw his face in the mirror. Who'd have thought this was a 29 year old? lol

Re: Details/Rules/Prize

I would say 99% of what has been entered in the challenges to date are in my book, orginal. There have been one or two here and there that were obviously copied step by step from a book or other source. There hasn't been one in quite a while, but I am just trying to cover everything.

If you have been doing "others" designs for quite a while, I am sure you have given it your own spin and by now should be orginal.

I hope this helps.

Also, please note the update to the rules:

"To simplify as much as possible, please list accordingly with your entry:

1. Tools:
2. Paints:
3. Step 1:, Step 2:, Step 3:, ect...."

Thanks!

Does the model have to be real boy or can we use practice heads or use a chick as the model?
