A new co-painter...??

Post by Daizy on Sun Sep 05, 2010 9:39 pm

I have been trying to convince my husband that he should come and paint with me at the bigger events.
The last couple of days he has been playing around with my paints (and my very wriggly 2 year old that will never ever sit still long enough for me to paint her) I think its not that bad for a first real attempt and I know with a bit of practice can only get better.
Anyway... what do you think? Would you let him paint your face.. ?? :p

hummm - it's hard to tell on a wiggly kid.

I do some great animal faces, but on wiggly kids, they look like poop.
BUT that litle fairy is awesome. Definately gives me the impression there's talent there that needs to come out.

I would let him practice the basics on your face to see how well he would do.

The only part that really threw me on his lion is he just needed a smaller nose. I think a lion is hard to make look right anyway, so its not bad at all to me. Then the shading on that mushroom and the sweet fairy is fabulous! Give him the butterfly or tiger, I bet anything he's got skillz!

By the way, your little girl is a DOLL!!!!

I could tell it was a lion. The mushroom & fairy are excellent. I'd use him in my booth! I agree, let him practice on you. I'm so jealous as I'd love to work w/ my hubby Very Happy

I love his hedgehog Wink

Seriously great for a first timer! Make sure you tell him about all of the positive responses to his work, it will only make him want to do more.

Great first attempt at a lion! And the Fairy and Mushroom are PHENOMENAL! Most people starting out aren't that great at cheek art, but WOW! That looks really, really professional! Let the man paint!

I think he's done well to only have been playing with the paints for a few days. People are never going to judge you as harshly as you are probably judging yourself, always keep that in mind.

Sign him up for some classes:) It is so much fun working with your husband. Mine started airbrushing over a year ago, and we have a great time working together. The kids have started doing glitter tats and balloons, we have a lot of fun working together as a family Very Happy

I really wish we had classes around here!! I would so be signing him up for sure!! He did some more last night too... I think he is hooked!

I have him booked to come with me at the local mall in a few weeks, usually I would ask another painter but she was busy. Now I am really excited he is coming because I think he is even better Smile

That is seriously fantastic!

I've had my hubs along as photog and line manager. Since I've started body work, he's jumped in to help with bases. He says he'd like to do more, but he's not interested in practicing.

You have got to get him to work! He'll love it! (although you might have him practice on you while you be the "squirmy 5 year old" so he can be prepared!)
