Barbie?

Post by LoneWolf on Mon Sep 06, 2010 11:08 am

Have any ideas to Barbie theme? Cheek art is fine. I thought about her face and some flowers, swirls, hearts (maybe with "Ken" written in them") but else I am a bit blank.

I tried to paint a girl as a Bratz doll and she ended looking like a prostitute (she was happy with the design), so I don't think I will try a full face barbie.

I have girls ask for Barbie Eyes. You Paint Barbie's eyes on their eye lids. It looks creepy if you ask me but the girls love it!

there are a few Barbie movies out there right now.... my daughter has the doll from A Mermaid's Tale and she has pink tattoos... you could probably paint that without too much trouble. A lot of their marketing stuff has a pink silhouette of a girl with a pony tail? I'd say check the Barbie website for inspiration? http://www.barbie.com/

I just tried to google it and found a great number of pictures with zombie, killed, old and that kind of barbie stuff. People never gets tired of playing with her..
will try the original site. Also thought about something with pink high heels.

The silhouette is a cool idea! Other wise I would do lots of pink and white and sparkles, dots, starbursts, glitter and swirlies... maybe even some eyelashes and rosy cheeks...

Don't feel to bad about the Bratz... those dolls actually look like prostitutes, so you were probably right on the money!

Barbie eyes is a favourite from my board! Even the adults like it. I've done 'Ken' eyes too...LOL. Come to think of it, the word 'creepy' does come up a lot though affraid

I carry a folding fan with me to speed up the drying process. The trick it to use the whole eye socket.

I still think they are silly...you open your eyes and they aren't visible, get smudged...

But Magna, those are great examples and thanks for the tip about using the whole socket... that will help the next time some teen asks for them...

As for a Barbie theme?? Pink... all pink and nothing but pink.

Actually, you do still see quite a bit when you use the whole socket. It depends on the anatomy of the model. It always gets great reactions though...for good or evil Twisted Evil
