Traveling w/ a promotion Company
I did a last minute job today for a big sports rally in my city. The Co. that hired me does events all over the states & asked me if I traveled & would I like to do multiple events for them.
Has anyone done this? How do you negotiate on that large a scale & what benefits should I expect? Any other info or insight would be appreciated.

Travel out of your city?
hmmmm I always incorperate travel into my hourly rate when dealing with promotion companies as they don't like to deal with the math...lol
I don't know how I would charge for this .... I mean the travel and then the hotel rates - food etc how do you account for all of that without charging $200 an hour?
When I 've been asked to go to a different city to work they always want to pay either travel or accommodation - not both.... so as of yet I haven't done it.
I will be interested in the answers you get Linda.
Maybe someone like Shannon or Wildcatfin know.

Depends if they want you to "represent" them or work FOR them? If they want you to travel as their employee then I would say they need to provide accommodation and travel expenses, some form of insurance, and a wage for the hours worked.
It would depend a lot on what they are wanting you to do and how far you have to travel.

They said plane tickets, hotel & food would all be covered. They usually hire for multiple events, so I'd be negotiating for 1 lump sum of money. I'd be paid for the time I work(I think) but not for the whole weekend. I was thinking if the pays good on my down time I could use it as a vacation trip too. They do it w/ an airbrusher & her family that airbrush bodies. As long as it's on weekends.... I've just never negotiated anything this big & I'd hate to lock myself into 10 events that I'd regret...
I'm hoping to hear from others that may have done this. It's very scary & exciting.

Personally since I love travel, I can imagine that this sounds very tempting
Sorry -- no experience to offer on rates -- but how about trying to negotiate for 1-2 events and see how that goes before committing to all 10? Also, do you know what all the destinations are? Are they places that you would want to visit?
