Pashur's Training Class - total WIN!

Post by sparklingfaces on Sat Sep 11, 2010 12:05 am

So I was fortunate enough to have the money and the means to get to Austin and take an 8 hour class from Pashur.... and let me tell you - it was AWESOME!

Pros:
1. small class - lots of one on one help
2. range of designs - there was everything from scary stuff to girly stuff
3. new design ideas - i separated this out because on top of all the different designs - there were a few I've never seen before ( dont know if it's cause I dont take many classes but hey - they were still new to me! )
4. step by step process - this has got to be my favorite part. Pashur let us take step by step designs with the promise not to share them, they are for our own personal use.
5. structure - maybe i'm a bit weird but I thought the structure of his class made everything flow nicely, rules and expectations were laid out before hand so we knew what to expect.
6. Fun - ofcorse.... can't leave that out
7. encouraging - I thought this was great for the less experience painter in the room ( eric..hahaha ). But he was very encouraging and made eric want to practice practice practice

Cons:
1. short amount of time - honestly - this shouldn't be a con, but I could have watched him paint for hours. I wish it was a two day class Smile
2. very little painting - I loved watching but only really painted two things on a water color pad. Dont know if this really is a con because I was very interested in learning the little tips and tricks he gave us..... BUT i dragged my WHOLE kit inside to not use it

Overall it was a great experience. Would love to take another class Smile

Vi,

Wow! Thanks for the super great review.

If people want a 2 day class by all means I will come paint for 2 or 3 days. It is up to the painters out there to let me know. Smile

More painting... great suggestion. I think I will incorporate exactly that. Smile

Pashur, I'd be all for it if I could get the painters in my city to commit. We tried once & no one understood the value Sad
I'll keep trying!

I'll second that Tash, we'd love you to come to Australia Pashur. How many in a class/classes would be your considered number to come down under?

My very first FP class/workshop was at Pashur's Super Workshop and Jam in 2009. Let me tell you, he set the bar for what I expect in a teacher....awesome.

God bless Jennifer and her ability to model for him hour after hour with such a great attitude throughout.

Keeps the class focused but allows you to have fun. It was a great experience. I got to attend some classes with other teachers at Fabbulas and he is still my fav.

Not to mention that his prices are the best around and allow the small time painters like myself the opportunity to attend quality training without going broke Very Happy

Big Props and Highly Recommended!

Pashur is scheduled to be at Learn and Play San Jose, CA in January, together with Brian Wolfe, Marcela and others.

I may be able to get you a little discount if you want to go Smile

And for those of you who want more than a quick class with Pashur, cross your fingers that he might do another Face Paint University -- I was lucky to attend in August and learn so much! Five whole days of classes with Pashur and Gina Niemi who is also fantastic!!!

How cool! That's close enough for me to drive to and I have a friend who lives in Los Altos hills. Maybe I can stay there.

I heard from a reliable source that if you register by Sunday, you can still get the Thanksgiving sale rate of $150 instead of the currently listed price of $195 Smile

That means more money left over to spend in the vendor shops Wink
