Face Paint Choices

Post by Bianca on Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:27 am

Hey there!

I have never face painted before and am unsure which brand to go with... I am tossing between Snazaroo and Diamond FX...

Could you please give me ur feedback/opinions on both of these, colour and quality wise please and which lasts longer?

Thanks heaps!! Any feedback is appreciated Smile

Bianca

DFX lasts longer, but stains more and doesn't blend as well as Snaz. Snaz is great for using on children and DFX is great for using on adults. According to Shannon's wear test, Snaz makes a more comfortable base to wear than DFX, but DFX is great for the line work.

There are several other threads that discuss this very same thing. Do a search and you will find all the info you need

Snaz is a good starter in my opinion, easy to blend. But get DFX white and black too for line work. They have a higher wax content and won't mix with the base color as much.

Have lots of fun!!!!!

I tottally agree with you!! Snaz blend really good, but DFX black is awesome for linework..
I will stay away from snaz metallics, I personally don't like them.

Most book stores have a Klutz book in the kids section w/ Wolfe paint in it. This is pretty much the same as DFX & is only around $25. Get a few good brushes from an art store(I like Michael's & like the #2 #4 round soft grip). There are some good beginner designs in it. Michaels often has a starter Snazaroo kit for around $16. The brush in it stinks, but the sponge is pretty good(cut it in 1/2 & use the flat side for applying paint & the rounded side for blending). Have fun!

I'm using mines tomorrow! I'm buying small Snaz pallets so I can make more split cakes! Very Happy

Aaron Brothers also carries the Klutz book with Wolfe (primary)paints (as well as the small snaz palettes) and they also have a 40% off coupon (and occasionally a 50% off one which I used when I bought my copy)
