Paint for Facepainting and Tattoos

Post by graphicdetails on Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:27 pm

Being that I have never done any facepainting, I am learning a great deal by reading all the past threads. I'm actually headed to Micheals this afternoon to see if they have any Snazaroo paint kits I can start playing with on my kids.

I'm also looking for another option for my tattoos. Right now I paint temporary tattoos by airbrush. It's a lot of equipment to drag around, not to mention the need to have a power source. I've tried researching alcohol based inks that I could use with a brush and/or sponge, and it would be fantastic if I could use the stencils I have as well. I currently use a 5ml mylar that I cut myself with a plotter. It's easy to make custom designs.

Does anyone know of any alcohol based paint that I could use with a brush, sponge, and stencils? I know this is primary a face painting forum, but I figured some of you may do other types of body painting as well.

My ideal new setup would be face paint and tattoo paint that I could easily carry around to setup in a matter of minutes and offer face painting and longer lasting tattoos.

Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone can give.

Randy

Temptu has a few pallets you can get. They are alcohol based. I've never used them, but have heard they aren't good for high volume, party style events.

Yep, but I've never tried it before. It's called Body Illustrator Palette, Kryolan makes it. Another company makes a similar product, but golly, I can't remember the names.

YOu need DabDab Tats by Amazing Raymond.
He sells the ink thicker so you can dab it onto the stencils.

I have used For Now Art Tattoo ink daubers - they are sort of like small bingo dabbers that come with a tube of ink to re-ink the spongey part. (I do not recommend the sparkle ones, they fall apart quickly and do not come with ink refills. But the other ones are great.)

Thanks so much for the information. I'll check out those websites.

I think I'll also spend my Sunday reading past facepainting posts and watching football. Very Happy

I hate high shipping fees. Maybe we can place a "joint" order down the line to save on shipping

He's a really nice guy - has helped me out a few times - You could consider asking him to work out the exact shipping for you personaly instead of him charging a bulk fee.
I feel your pain girls - I have the shipping costs killing me from the USA.

Alcohol activated cake makeup takes some getting use to. Check the fro previous threads on how to get the most from them.

I use Kryolan BIC with great success.
