Fat Max - AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!

Post by KreativeKatie's faces on Tue Sep 14, 2010 4:47 am

Just been speaking to a guy AT my local Bunnings and they are going to have the fat max in stock if they haven't got them already its RRP is $149!! Aussie dollars ( thats about $139.00 USD) i think the gals over in the USA are getting them cheaper than that. (correct me if i'm wrong guys)

I just thought i'd share and it looks like i'll be saving for a bit longer before i can get mine :-(

Oh well

Here in Canada the regular price seems to be $115 CDN which is about $110 USD. I was complaining to my husband about how much cheaper they were in the US, and then to my surprise one week they were on sale at Canadian Tire (a national hardware/automotive chain store) and I got one for $85!! So keep an eye out, because you just never know!

I got mine from Lowes for 69.95 so perhaps the higher price may be due to cost off export or I guess that would be import in your case.

Home Depot has them on sale, especially around Father's Day & Christmas for $69.99.
Congrats to ya'll in Australia for finally being able to get a Fatmax. Sorry the import prices make them so high Sad
It's prabably like that for lots of products, clothes, etc?

Noob question--what the heck is a fatmax? I looked online and saw hammers, measuring tapes, and a sawhorse. ? I read in another thread about theft--y'all aren't using hammers on them are you? Very Happy

It is actually called a FatMax 4-in-1 Mobile Work Station, made by Stanley Tools. It is a rolling toolbox which some facepainters use as a self-contained setup.
This is a link to it at the Stanley site: http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=ZAG+ROLLING+WORK&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=020800R&SDesc=FatMax%26%23174%3B+4-in-1+Mobile+Work+Station

Here is a link to show how one facepainter uses it:

I just got one, I wasn't really needing one yet but it was on sale so how could I resist? Very Happy

I saw one in person today at Home Depot... $114. It actually isn't as big as I thought it would be when all folded up.

But I was strong... and walked right by as I was looking for silicone lubricant. What a Face

Could you hear it calling your name as you left... "Shannon, come back for meeeee....." Very Happy

It can be a bit much to lift once it's full. I made the mistake of trying to put my Fatmax on the back seat of hubbies car & pulled my shoulder blade.

They are on sale at Canadian Tire again this week - I think it's 25% off, same as when I bought mine. It ended up being $85.99 plus tax.

Shannon, I think my daughter has the same Mastercraft one as you. When you put them side by side, the FM doesn't look a whole lot bigger at first. But now when I pick hers up, it seems really small. I especially notice the size difference in the width from front to back. I found some plastic containers that I put my paints into that I can just set right in there sitting flat.
