I'm sad to say my Pug has cancer

Post by Psalmbook on Wed Sep 15, 2010 3:06 pm

My Pug, Sparky is only 4 yrs old, but we found a lump on his neck & it grew very fast. We took him to the vet last week & discovered it's thyroid cancer. We're hoping the antibiotics & steroids will give him a little more time w/ us, but we know it's only a temporary fix Sad I'm just feeling a little sad as all of our pets have always lived to ripe old ages.

I'm so sorry, Linda! My son's golden retriever had stomach cancer a few years ago so I kind of know how you feel. I'll be praying for your family.

Psalm, I know exactly what you are going through, I had a dog years ago, a German Shepherd named Tasha who developed throat cancer and finally had to be put down. I remember how sad and crushed I felt. My thoughts go out to you and I hope you can stay strong through this difficult time.

Thanks all. It's more sad to see my kids reactions. My boys are both taking it pretty bad. My 14 yr old is the dog's "Boy". The dog worships the ground he walks on.
The good news is the dog is getting a little better w/ them meds(the bad news is the meds are making him have "accidents" Very Happy
We are now on puddle patrol.

Punky, we also have a 10 yr old German Shepard.
