My Introduction

Post by Charlotte Bowring on Wed Sep 15, 2010 5:39 pm

Hi Everyone! My name is Charlotte Bowring, I live in Sulphur, La. I have 3 children that are spaced far apart.
I had one in the 70's one in the 80's and one in the 90's. I love doing crafty things. My daughter (Melisa)
introduced me to face painting, and now I'm doing it as a business. I did some face painting at the school my
son went to and loved it. I enjoyed seeing the childrens faces light up.
MeLisa and I went to New Orleans and learned from Mark Reid. Had a lot of fun, learned a lot too but still have a lot of questions and a lot to learn. I have my business cards, need a web page, and don't know if I should get insurance or not, or
even how to get it. I have my first gig here in Sulphur at the fair in Oct. I'm scared. But I'll put my faith in God
and pray everything will go ok. I'm so glad for this forum. Only been on it a few time but everyone seems so nice
and friendly, honest, and informative. Not to say the talent on here. I've seen some amazing painting. I hope with practice I'll get that good. Have a nice day Smile

Hi! Welcome, and good luck on your October gig, how exciting! On my first paid gig, I was so nervous I could not keep the brush from shaking! The first little girl in my line was a sweetie from church that I'd painted a zillion times, boy did that ever help. Anyway, welcome, I'm sure you'll love it here!

Thank You! Maybe I'll be lucky and have someone I painted from the school that I might know, that would sure help me.
Yea I've been nervous about getting on. I'm not to good with putting things down in writting. Find it hard to put
down what I want to say, soooo I finily stepped out of my comfort zone. But I am excited. I've been having so
much fun. Going back and forth to MeLisa's and getting ideas from her. I love my daughter, she has been such a big help. I wouldn't of got to the point where I am now without her.
Thanks everyone for welcoming me. Smile
