source for what to offer to the ones I cannot paint!

Post by BarbieSmith on Mon Sep 20, 2010 2:39 pm

For the little ones that want a face painting and cannot have one for whatever reason (mostly that my line is closed) I want to offer something that is *more* than just a sticker. Like those water-based tattoos their parents can apply? Any other ideas? What do you offer? Also, does anyone have a good source?

Thanks,

I have a colouring book with my contact info all over it. It happens to have pictures of me as a clown in it, but yours doesn't have to... it can just be fun little activities and pictures to colour, so long as the front and back covers have your information all over them. What I do is make it from two letter size sheets of paper, copied both sides, folded in half and stapled on the fold. They cost me about 40 cents to get them copied, folded and stapled at a local print shop. I also buy bulk the little 3 packs of Crayola crayons and put a sticker with my info on those as well. So at a cost of about 65 cents a kid, they get a colouring book and crayons that are even better than a business card.

Those stupid little bracelets that they all want! You can get them cheap at the dollar store.

The bracelets are Silly Bands. I use tons of those too. Plus whistles and clown noses. Often, none of that works. affraid

The coloring book is such a great idea. I'm going to have to try that out.

Thanks Shannon, I used promo code 030doc for free shipping. I got a $6 roll of scratch 'n sniff unisex stickers. Some of the tattoos looked nice too - especially 2 sets of the glitter tattoos. But these would possibly cannibalize my own glitter tattoo sales, so I let them be... but they looked very, very nice at .10 cents a piece.

I buy a box of little bottles of bubbles, it's about $5 - $10 a box and you get about 50 bottles of bubbles.
I used to have lolly pops - but some kids weren't allowed them, and they would suck on them and drool and ruin their makeup - so now I just stick with the bubbles.
I also give them to the kid at the party who is always happy to be last........... I love that kid he/she always gets a special treat.

I've had hair tinsel in my hair since last November! I absolutely love it. I was always wanting to put bright streaks in my hair, but I'm loathe to bleach it (last time I dyed my hair was about 1998, haha), and the tinsel is pretty and bright and shiny and eye catching - and perfect for this type of work Razz That was the most-asked question I had in Vegas, haha.

It goes by Bling String, Hair Bling, etc. I haven't managed to take a good photo of it in, but here's a link:
