Best Glitter to use?
I'm looking for a glitter that will go with most Face paints.
I heard about Fairy dust, but I have no idea what that is...

Re: Best Glitter to use?
Your best bet is white irridescent. While many painters use many, this one accents all paint well.

Re: Best Glitter to use?
I only have that very glitter and it goes with everything. I am trying very hard not to add any other glitters...
Re: Best Glitter to use?
The Mama Clown Fairy dust is the one I reach for the most. I also have the yellow, blue, and pink, but I don't use those very much.
I just a got the chunkier kind(fairy Dust) and I'm loving it, too! It gives a completely different effect.

Re: Best Glitter to use?
Any cosmetic glitter will be fine - and white irridescent aka holographic aka aurora is a great general all purpose glitter!
The differences are size of the flakes and reflective qualities - people like different ones for different reasons.
I'm not that picky!!

Question: I have a tube of glitter paint that I use. I noticed that most people here seem to use the dust. There is also a gel available.
What would be a good descion to keep and use over the others? Anyone experimented? What works better?
Ive mostly done cheek designs so far, so the paint works great, I do swirls, sparkles, and dots mostly.

Wonder what kind of Glitter Paint tube you have..never seen a glitter face paint in a tube..
Glitter gel comes in a bottle just like the poof bottle with the difference that has a metal tip for finer details. I use mine for some outlining details, and dots. Lately I've been using it for faux henna designs..
Found out that the holographic rainbow goes with everything.

Re: Best Glitter to use?
OO It seems it is the MEHRON brand. I love the glitter, its easy and it dries to boot. Not much longer than it takes the paint to dry. Its called Glitter Wear. Here is the website for it. I have the silver, its the only one I use because its all I thought I needed. Now obviously Im wondering if I should get other coors, lol

I will swatch it tonight as well and put it on the brand comparision thread so you can see it.

Re: Best Glitter to use?
Hi, I would recommend a glitter that is iridescent or is more greenish in tone. In the case of cosmetics containing glitter, simply match the cosmetic to your skin tone. The glitter additives are already matched. Cheers!

Re: Best Glitter to use?
There are loads of cosmetic glitters available in drug stores, etc. Usually in the kid and teen sections. I used one called Caboodles when I first started. Still have some actually.
As long as it is a cosmetic, meant for use on people, there really isn't a "best" it is just what you like the best.
Some of the gels work better than others.... Snaz being the worst IMO - too watery, flakes too big, BUT it does have it's uses mainly spackling it on with a flat tool on bare skin. Makes a great "skin" of glitter than then will peel off when dry.

I just got me some Body Sequin-Glitter Gel at Hot Topic..its awesome for adding details to body painting. Sequins are good size and they stick really good. I'll post some pics later..
