Zoo Animals

Post by Kristal on Thu Sep 30, 2010 5:00 pm

I've got a party @ the Zoo in mid-Oct, and the birthday girl wants everyone in zoo animal faces (Spiderman's an animal, right?). She wants to be a zebra - no prob. I've seen some different versions and I can figure that out. Tigers - done! Ditto cheetah's. Lions - I love Lone's HP Lion.

Does anyone have a full-face elephant? Other versions of giraffes? Full-face hippo? Monkeys I find tricky. Owl? I know I'll likely end up doing rainbow butterflies and Batman anyway, and thankfully I'm painting before they go on their safari tour, but I guess it's the push I needed to add zoo animals! Would love to see your versions.

I have never figured how to do a full face elephant (although I think I saw one in the Wolfe brothers new book, which I have yet to buy, that looks okayish)

I love this Giraffe (and so does my daughter Wink )

Here is my attempt at a monkey too, dont like it so much though. He had to be the biggest wriggler too.

Daisy you were the first person I thought of for the giraffe!

For a full face elephant, try doing a side view of an elephant using the childs eye. Maybe a fat cartoonish one Smile If my son wasn't sick, I'd pull out my paints.

Oh, Daisy don't you have a penquin! That's a zoo animal Wink

The Wolfe brother's new book Extreme Facepainting ( http://tinyurl.com/ExtremeFaces )has a full face Monkey, Zebra, Lion, Jaguar as well as a "one eye" peacock and large cheek art giraffe where the neck curves around the eye. Very cool designs with step by step instructions

Haha cute! Thanks!

I did just get the Wolfie's new book, too - that's one of the zebra designs I'm planning on trying!

This is the good part about themed birthdays - "having to" learn new designs that I might not otherwise learn Very Happy

I recently did a 5th grade class of "animals coming out of the woods". I looked on the snaz sight for ideas. Their rhino was cool and I also like the giraffe I found.

Thanks for the thread! I just got a call from a pediatric dentist office that has a safari theme. They're having me paint kids so they can take pictures of them & decorate the office! I'm so excited to be somewhat published!!!

Does anyone have a cute monkey face that doesnt look like they came out of Planet of the Apes? Or is that inevitable?
