My Firsts, Finally

Post by fluttersby on Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:57 pm

I hope it's OK if I just post a link to my facebook page for this, and I hope it works. I was so excited to have actual people to paint on today. I know the pictures are a little blurry, my fault for zooming in, I guess. I was so nervous and shaky, I don't know how anything turned out recognizable.

Thanks. I don't know why I can doodle on my arm or leg pretty good but when I get another person in front of me I just get nervous. I can't paint my face though so this was good for me. I did kind of ease into it a little though. These girls were older teens and they wanted something kind of fun and funky. The blonde wants something for the homecoming dance in a few weeks so maybe I'll get some work from that.

You know I use to feel nervous like that too. The more you paint the more you relise how much you love it & just let if flow from your body. I don't get nervous before gig's anymore so no more butterflies flying around in my tummy as I drive to the gig. YAY.

I thought I would be a nervous wreck painting a line of kids but I guess my adrenaline kicks in and I don't even think about it.
The only thing I have to watch is saying stuff like "bugger" (which in Australia is like saying "dang") if I make an error - only done it twice and I knew both the kids so it wasn't an issue.

A few times I said, "oops!" and got that dreaded look. I guess that will need to cease and desist. I am going tomorrow to print these out as snapshots at Walmart. My printer is not printing right for some reason. I am supposed to paint the dark haired girl again tomorrow so, yay, more pics!

Great start! I used to get the 'shakes' too. Once you get more confident your lines will flow more smoothly.

Great job!

I use to get nervous and still do until after that first face at a gig. The more you paint, the more you realize how happy those kids get when they look in the mirror. It gets me excited to get to the next face Smile So fun!
