New Addition to my kit

Post by Psalmbook on Tue Oct 19, 2010 9:54 pm

I painted non-stop from 1:00-8:00 with no breaks last weekend. I was on my feet & I think I was about to physically die Very Happy
The one thing that made it possible was the event had hired several face painters & one shared a foam mat with me. You know those large square mats the hook together like a puzzle to make softer ground for toddlers? Well, they are great for standing on while painting. I'm going to get a packet & set them up under my chair for parks, cement & super long gigs!

Oh, I'd forgotten about those mats! Funny, because I was toying with the idea of getting one of those gel mats - but the one I saw was something like $60! My gig on Sunday was 11:00-5:00; luckily I was on this fake grass mat thing, haha.

Great idea!

We have those and they are marvelous! I'm painting 12-hour days standing up on the weekends right now at the corn maze so I know what you mean!!

I recently upgraded to a rubber industrial grade work mat, and it's fabulous! After a 12 hour day of straight face painting with only one 10 minute break, my body was exhausted but my feet didn't hurt at all. I was amazed.

Where did you ladies get yours? How much do they cost?

Something else to invest in.

Big Lots has the ones you use for under weight lifting sets for around $20.
