Peacock Feather

Post by IamGinaW on Wed Oct 27, 2010 12:56 pm

Does anyone know of a tutorial or good up-close photo of peacock feathers I can use to figure out how to paint them?
Thanks

Clash the Clown has a Youtube video where she does a couple of them:

Here's a site with a beautiful closeup (if you click on it) of a peacock feather, that describes how to paint one on canvas, not quite what you wanted but you might find it helpful. The picture of the feather is really lovely.

I've got a photo of a peacock mask I did last Halloween on my blog here http://shannonfennell.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/my-halloween/

And a photo of some done one stroke style (with ABC Cakes in Rebecca's class at Living Canvas last year) in this post http://shannonfennell.wordpress.com/2009/09/24/home-from-living-canvas/

I asked this question a long time ago because of Daizy's work! LOL! Her mask on her little girl is gorgeous and I wanted to do something similar. So, my question was answered when she posted that step-by-step in the competition. Smile
